Like, when you find something that actually works the way it's supposed to without any of the usual headaches, isn't that just the best feeling? It’s one of those things where you don't even have to think about it anymore because it just gets the job done every single time.

Thanks, man, I actually ended up pulling the trigger on that Corsair back in the day. $0.33So, I actually managed to snag one at a pretty sweet price, which honestly feels like a bit of a win, you know? 😁

Of course it makes sense—you can find absolute garbage all over the internet if you look hard enough, just like any other media outlet, especially those so-called "tech" magazines. It’s all just a big circle jerk.

Anyone down to test out this 1500W beast? 😁

Not if he actually cares about his rig... man, what an absolute joke of a unit. 🤣

+3.3V - 30A
+5V - 25A
+12V - 29A

= 572 W—it pulls over a kilowatt from the wall just to spit out about half a kilo... plus, the thing barely weighs 2 kg; it’s basically made of cardboard, kind of like those cheap, flimsy shoes you find at a discount store. 😂

That adds up to 572W, yet it pulls over a kilowatt from the wall just to deliver half a kilo... plus it weighs barely 2kg, which feels more like it was built out of cardboard than anything else, much like those cheap disposable shoes you see everywhere. 😂

Sure, I'll admit that you can grab a 1500W power supply for $120 these days,😁 so go ahead and make your choice, it’s no big deal—except if they had labeled that 1500W rating "For Extreme Dumbass," then we could finally call it an honest product. 😁

Still, that Ritmo model seems almost convincing by comparison,🙂 let me try to remember why exactly—if my memory serves me right—😢 compared to this tiny little Seasonic X-400 Fanless, which is just pathetic and underwhelming, not to mention the sheer audacity of Seasonic asking $120 for such a small-time unit. 😢🙂👋

What kind of power supply would you suggest for this build?
1 x DDR3 4GB (2x2GB) Kingmax, 1333MHz, FLFE
1 x LG GH24NS DVD writer, DVD±RW, 24x DVD±R ,8x DL , 40x CD-R
1 x Cooler Master Centurion 5 II Middle Tower, no PSU, black
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz, 1MB/6MB, 95W, Socket 1155
1 x Asrock P67 PRO3-B3 - Intel P67, ATX, 4xDDR3 2133MHz, Gigabit LAN
1 x Sapphire HD 6870, 1GB GDDR5 256bit, Dual Link DVI + HDMI + DP
1 x HDD Seagate 500GB, Serial ATA III, 7200 rpm, Barracuda 7200.12
I guess, maybe an XFX 450W is enough, or perhaps a Seasonic 430W... I wonder if the Seasonic is actually high-quality enough to justify paying $33 more?

The XFX unit will do the job, and honestly, it’s basically that same Seasonic... if I were putting down $33 more cash, I'd go with the XFX 550W

System Build

ASRock 890
Sempron X4 955
HD Seagate 500 GB
Sapphire HD 6850

I am currently in search of a new power supply unit. I know that brands like Seasonic, Corsair, XFX, and Xilence are available, so I would prefer to select a high-quality option from those manufacturers. Please provide your recommendations.

I have been considering a Seasonic model, specifically the SS-620GB, which offers 620W of power and a 120mm fan with active PFC, though I am open to other possibilities.

You don't need anything that overkill... an XFX 450W, an XFX 550W, a Seasonic 520W, or even a Corsair VX 450 or 550—with any of those, you’ll still have plenty of headroom left over.

I fixed your component list for you.😬

Personally, I’d probably suggest the LC Power Silent Giant Green Power. Their series is roughly on par with XFX, but the price is actually pretty reasonable.🙂

This LC Power 560W unit is basically on par with the XFX 450W when you look at the 12V rail😁

Their power supplies usually show a slightly lower amperage on the 12V rail, though I guess they could probably push quite a bit more than that if they had to. 😛

I have decided on the Seasonic 520W; I simply need to sit down and finalize the purchase. I am somewhat unclear, however, regarding the meaning of PFC and what "modular" entails.

PFC (power factor correction) works better when it's active. Also, going modular means you aren't stuck with a bunch of hardwired cables; instead, the connectors are right on the unit, so you only plug in the specific cables you actually need. It's a lot easier to avoid a total mess inside your case...

The issue with LC isn't even the amperage; it's the fact that they provide barely any wattage on the 12V rail...

http://traficantesdehardware.com/ima...23/img/006.jpg

Look, out of the advertised 650w, this thing barely gives over half on the 12V combined... maybe 368w if I'm lucky... 😱 screw their "650w" rating...

They should just label this as a 400w or 450w power supply and call it a day. Then we wouldn't have this problem...
