I’m dealing with someone who is officially classified as a psychiatric patient, though honestly, I’ve been digging around trying to make sense of the whole situation and I am coming up totally empty-handed. What I really need here is some actual professional insight or a potential diagnosis based on these specific symptoms they're exhibiting:🙂
*this person sleeps in a chair because they physically cannot fall asleep in a bed
*the second they sit down in a chair, they start drifting off into a daze
*they tend to make these weird facial expressions when walking into a room (from what I've seen, it seems like a milder version of something more intense)
*they lose their balance and just collapse, or sometimes they just sort of slump over
*they have these spasms, but they remain fully conscious and aware of everything happening around them—it definitely doesn't look like an epileptic seizure
*if someone suddenly calls out to them or startles them, they might fall immediately, though they don't lose consciousness
*sometimes they just slump over completely out of nowhere, without any trigger at all

I'm really hoping someone out there can shed some light on this and help me understand what's going on!🙂

If you’re being treated like a psychiatric case, then you should already have a professional opinion and an actual diagnosis on file. Honestly, how can anyone give you any real advice when things are that heavy? You really need to go out and get a second opinion, but not here on Reddit—go talk to someone in the real world.
