I guess Lollapalooza feels pretty outdated compared to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival to me! It seems like their lineup just gets worse every single year, whereas you can really see how much Coachella is evolving and moving forward...

Well, there isn't any progress to speak of yet because nothing major has been announced. Festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, or even Rock am Ring and the big ones over in England have already dropped their lineups 😢

With Chemical Brothers and Royksopp slated for Lollapalooza, I can only assume my smartphone will be part of the lineup too; honestly, could you people just release the full roster already? I have no intention of blowing my entire budget on those overpriced VIP passes without knowing who is actually playing...

I've been listening to some of this LCD Soundsystem stuff lately... honestly, I think it’s pretty bad, maybe even really bad 🤦

It won't matter much. It’ll be a nice afternoon, just sipping on some beers while we wait for the next announcement 🤷

Give me a break, Lollapalooza is lightyears ahead of Coachella...just look at the number of stages, the attendance, the lineups, everything. Sure, the organization is a mess because they screw something up every single year, but right now their electronic lineup is killer. I’d love to see some of those acts make it over to our side (Daft Punk, Crystal Castles).

Anyway, wow... LCD Soundsystem.
If they keep going down this path, I'm selling my ticket.

Personally, Coachella gets a thumbs down this year because they scrapped the metal stage.

Comparing it to Lollapalooza is pointless; this Coachella thing is way smaller and shorter.

Besides, Korn, Manic Street Preachers, and even Daft Punk played in the States before they ever hit Lollapalooza.

The only band making Coachella worth it—who hasn't played Lollapalooza or any other hyped rock fest lately and actually matters right now—is Editors.

T-Mobile US is bringing them back for a solo show in NYC, and that's the only thing worth mentioning.

Lollapalooza confirmed CB, which is just laughable to me.

If Muse, Placebo, or Alice in Chains aren't at this year's Coachella, I'm totally out.

I don't go to Lollapalooza anyway; their lineup never clicked for me. Something like Bonnaroo is much more my speed.

+1—I've already got my ticket in hand and I'm not backing down regardless—but after waiting this long, we really need a massive headliner. Regardless of what anyone thinks, these guys are easily some of the biggest bands out there right now. Also, 👎 compared to LCD Soundsystem, they should be like !!! in terms of genre, but instead, they just feel incredibly thin and sterile.

Well, you clearly have to be listening really closely if that's the verdict you've reached! 👍

And honestly? When someone with a handle like David Martin11 🤣 trashes a band, I immediately start thinking they must be way better than I currently realize—it almost makes me happy that they're coming to town! 🙂

XD

I don't quite see what the surrounding festivals have to do with anything—I mean, sure, Lollapalooza is longer and bigger, and I wouldn't say the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is lagging behind, but let's be real: Lollapalooza over in Canada is usually miles ahead of both of them!

I'd happily see Röyksopp again, especially since I missed out on Harter Quote. 😢

You're basically making demands of the organizers—that's how it works! 🙄 It’s not like the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is your own private party where they have to grant your every wish, so if you're going to bail, just go ahead and skip it—we won't miss you! 👋

What's your problem?

Read my sentence more carefully. I’m saying if Placebo, Alice in Chains, or Muse aren't on this year's Coachella lineup, I am completely out.

Can someone break this down for me? What else does Tom need to add or cut from this?

It’s pretty obvious I wasn't speaking for "you guys." I was just speaking for myself.

Why are Placebo and Muse the only bands ever brought up as if they're actually relevant or worth seeing?😕
I mean, haven't both of them already been around the block? I don't get the hype.

LCD😍
And is it actually true that The xx were supposed to play but canceled at the last minute? 😢

I think I heard some rumors about Pendulum potentially playing, but honestly, it might be even better if they brought in a massive global headliner to really draw a huge crowd... maybe something like Rage Against the Machine making a comeback? It feels like it could be one of those last chances to catch them live, and if that actually happened, it would probably be an absolute blast!

I mean, what are you even trying to say by calling them good? Honestly, my head hurts just thinking about it because it's all so incredibly dull... and I don't think they're any better than anyone else, really! I suppose I'm just thankful that Rise Against and Flogging Molly are on the lineup, but I was definitely hoping we might see another big name pop up soon!

Yeah, sure....

I swear, you read some crazy stuff on this forum.

🙄

That Lollapalooza is just Lollapalooza.

And Coachella isn't even Coachella anymore, it's just T-Mobile sponsorship of Coachella.

Lollapalooza has an energy that T-Mobile won't catch up to for another ten years; the best parties at Lollapalooza happen at 8 AM, while T-Mobile wraps things up by 2.

Whatever.... I don't even know why I bother writing.

Ronald Turner46 said:Lollapalooza has this raw, electric energy that honestly? I don't think T-Mobile will be able to touch for at least another decade! Seriously, the best part of the whole experience—the absolute craziest, most hilarious stuff—always happens around 8:00 in the morning... meanwhile, T-Mobile usually calls it quits by 2:00 AM. Who needs sleep when the party is just getting started?

Look, I’m heading to the festival for the bands—not for some nonsense at eight in the morning! 🤷
I mean, when you really think about it, trying to compare festivals like that doesn't even make much sense—they’re just such different beasts, right? But hey, I am honestly just so stoked to hear that you're out there having the absolute time of your life! 👍

Wait, hold on—did I miss something? Are we really just going to drop a single name like that and leave it hanging? Honestly, I feel like there’s a whole story here that we’re skipping over! What's the deal with this? Is there some massive update I missed while I was grabbing coffee, or are we just reminiscing about the legends? I need the context! Come on, don't leave me hanging like this—give me the scoop! kaže:
What are you even trying to say—that they're actually good? Seriously!

I think it’s pretty obvious that I wasn't actually talking about the music in that sentence—I was talking about YOU! What I meant to say is that you probably only listened to them once, maybe just one single time when you were in a specific mood, and then you immediately wrote them off as trash. So, honestly? You're probably just totally out of touch! :S:S:S:
