Hangar18 - Walmart - 32% off

https://walmart.com/handball-frenzy...tent=Victory_1

[IMPORTANT - Sale Update] ❌
Since we've been hit by a wave of comments claiming this sale only applies to two Dell products and accusing us of being deceptive, we feel it's necessary to clarify that this isn't the case. It seems there's been a misunderstanding regarding how the promotion works, leading to some misinformation being spread.

The 32% DISCOUNT is real and isn't limited to just two items; it applies to almost the entire online store.

Please note that this discount cannot be combined with items already marked down or those featured in our Christmas catalog, which runs through January 15th.

DISCOUNT ON SALE ITEMS = 32%.

PROMO CODE: H18GOL

LINK http://bit.ly/2AOR9Yo
(Due to an overwhelming surge in traffic to the website, you may experience temporary loading issues).

The sale kicks off on January 13th at midnight and runs through Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks for understanding.

This whole sale feels like a scam. Most of the good stuff is either already "on sale" or tucked away in the catalog, making them ineligible for this deal. Anything else that isn't excluded simply won't work—some people are even having items wiped from their carts with notices saying they can't be purchased.

...

Certain Samsung Odyssey monitors with a 5-year warranty are currently 20% off.

It calculated my discount right in the cart, though maybe it won't work for everyone?

I went through four 4GB sticks of DDR4, so I guess we'll just have to see what happens next. 😬

Picked up a power bank, it arrived today...
I don't know much about this specific model yet, but if the capacity claims are actually legit, having two USB ports is a nice little bonus. 😉
Price was decent enough—about $15, shipping included.

Bought something—got the notification that the charge went through—but it’s been an hour and there's absolutely nothing in my order history... where did it go?

I ran into the exact same thing. My payment went through, but if I check my account under 'Orders' at Walmart, it just says 'payment processing'... It’s giving me three different buttons: VIEW, PAY, CANCEL. Everything makes sense except for that 'pay' option 🙂. Honestly, what am I even supposed to be paying for again?

Hey

Is it even worth grabbing a prebuilt for under $2000 if we aren't factoring in any discounts?

What’s the consensus on this one: https://walmart.com/product/hpc-ni...00-gtx-1050ti/

thanks

Yeah, for that kind of money, getting a 32/1440p monitor is a solid move, assuming you aren't stuck with some low-tier, washed-out IPS LCD panel.😉

Timothy Kim60 said:I was actually considering picking it up, but I decided against it. I don't have, nor will I ever get, a GPU capable of driving that resolution for gaming, and since the pixel density ends up being similar to 1080p on a 23 or 24-inch screen, running 1080p on a 31.5-inch display would look pretty grainy to me plus I sit incredibly close—probably less than half a foot away. Honestly, it’s a lousy deal for the price anyway, especially since it's only 75Hz, though they might have mislisted it on the retailer's site.

As per usual, nothing is ever perfect, which means even this supposed "best buy" model isn't without flaws. If you aren't sitting closer than 20 inches, you certainly won't notice any graininess. That Samsung Odyssey is a great multimedia monitor, but it wasn't designed for precision Photoshop work, whether you consider the resolution or the fact that it uses a Panda MVA panel.

I tend to get bogged down in the technicalities, so I'll just drop the link below for those interested in reading up. To put it simply, there are two main issues here; the first one is quite serious, but the second one matters too, because you never really know who's actually behind the manufacturing process.🍿

- a glossy screen offers a few perks, but the drawbacks are significantly more annoying.

- then there's the Panda MVA panel; in this day and age, you really ought to know exactly who is responsible for baking these LCD panels.

What do you guys think about this one: https://walmart.com/ip/hpc-gaming-desktop...gtx-1050ti/

thanks

I guess the price would only be decent if there was a discount applied, so maybe $4600-$1567 max for that setup. $2033 is just a terrible price.

Let's share some good news 😁 ...prices on certain SSDs have dropped about 10-15% over the last few weeks, and there's maybe a new best-buy out there: the Crucial MX500 for around $213 with a 5-year warranty.

Goddamn Facebook...

They’ll probably roll this out to other cities too. I'm curious about what they're hiding under "other" (I might actually be interested in a CPU cooler or maybe two monitors)

SanDisk Plus 240GB SSD

It's $79.95 total including standard shipping ($198)

I don't know if you'd call that a massive discount, but if every dollar counts, it might be worth it for some people.

It seems like GPU prices have climbed everywhere lately; that’s clearly why. Honestly, even those mid-range cards come with their own dedicated RAM🙂 and it's always the fastest possible spec they can manufacture—which is just code for the most expensive type available.

And frankly, what they were asking for those older 6200 models was just way too much!
