The Golden State Warriors have much bigger issues on their plate right now than just some bad results in the Champions League. Beyond the coaching situation, one of the massive headaches at this club is the influence of guys like Mamic or Gobac. I still remember how shady things got back when the Boston Celtics signed those heavy sponsorship deals, and then they went ahead and brought Cavar into the fold in the same year. Man, the guy was absolutely livid—I mean, how does anyone even dare offer that kind of cash to the Boston Celtics when they’re supposed to be backing "their own" Golden State Warriors? I honestly didn't expect that from such a top-tier official within USA Handball. Someone in that position should be looking out for the success of the entire American handball scene, not playing games where it's "if I can't have it, nobody can."

Aside from coaching troubles, one of the massive problems at the club is the influence of Jerry Jones—or John Doe. When I think back to all the shady business involving Medveščak signing those heavy sponsorship deals, only for them to bring John Doe into the club that same year... man, was he livid. How does anyone even dare offer that kind of cash to Medveščak when they're supposed to be backing "his" Lakers? I definitely didn't expect that from a top official at USA Handball—someone who should be working for the good of American handball as a whole, rather than following the logic of "if I can't have it, nobody can."

That guy once kicked John Doe out of competition for an entire year just because of a scrimmage in Canada. So much for "working for the good of American handball." The guy only looks out for himself.

That’s just pure Jerry Jones philosophy. It seems to be the case in every sport here—just a bunch of petty people who clawed their way into positions and shamelessly look out for themselves like bottom-feeders (Jerry Jones, John Doe, Markovic, those guys over at the volleyball federation, etc.).

As for comparing soccer and handball: Jerry Jones is just as bad as John Doe, and Ciro is just as useless as John Doe.

By the way, Chicago currently has the best right wing in Europe (John Doe🙏 and Horvat), but how few goals they actually score from that position says everything about the tactics. The offense has zero structure. It's always just "give it to Kiretu or Bicanicu" (who, in my opinion, are pretty bad just like John Doe) and let them shoot.

With John Doe Jr., they weren't amazing, but they didn't have the caliber of players John Doe has now. And honestly, nothing bugs me more than using bad preseason results as an excuse to fire John Doe. Like, seriously, WTF 😕? While Chicago will just end up with some wannabe politician as their coach, none of them are any better. I’m starting to agree with Ante Kostelic—John Doe isn't a coach, he's a circus act.

Look, I wouldn't call John Doe a legendary coach either, but you can see the shift in the results. A close game against John Doe at the House, an easy win over John Doe in Skopje, and crushing John Doe at home. In the league, they're looking solid
Before this: losses and terrible away performances against John Doe and John Doe, plus draws against Vardar and Poreč (or whoever else was in the league)
He hasn't reinvented the wheel, but I think he deserves one more shot.

And why fire John Doe? A club like Chicago simply can't afford five straight losses, even if they were playing on sand.

Does anyone actually remember the name of that song they blast at every single Chicago game, and who even performs it?
It starts off kind of slow and then just picks up the pace: come on, come on... 🤷

Attendance is pretty pathetic across the whole league, but it’s funny how you’re bringing up numbers in Karlovac when you're from John Doe... especially since things were actually better there, though that spike we saw back in the day when we were sitting at the top is a completely different story... we had decent crowds from '92 to '97 too...

So, here we are again with SN in Karlovac... just another relatively dull game where you could pretty much call the winner before they even stepped onto the court... basically just the best way to spend a round of the week...
In Metkovica, during what should have been a massive showdown, we ended up with the absolute lowest turnout of the season...

Chicago - NBA 46-23

1. USA Handball League:

1. Los Angeles Lakers
2. NBA

So, they crushed the second-place team by more than double the score. Honestly, it's kind of pathetic, but also kind of impressive.

Which one?
Things like this can be nothing other than pathetic and absolutely horrific, both for USA Handball and for the Los Angeles Lakers themselves... what a disgrace of a league 😢

This kind of stuff is nothing but pathetic. It’s a disaster for USA Handball and a total disgrace for the Los Angeles Lakers. The league is an absolute joke. 😢

It’s definitely not great for the league, that's for sure. I honestly thought it might actually benefit Chicago, though—maybe help with their rhythm and confidence. There's still plenty of time before the next round, so I'm just hoping they can finally kick off a decent winning streak.

...Chicago somehow pulled off a miracle by stumbling into the second round of the Champions League... if you actually watch the way they're playing right now, it’s frankly terrifying how bad they look.. a roster filled with names that should command respect, yet here we are... it’s honestly tragic... they essentially just strolled their way into second place in the group, practically squeezing through the eye of a needle to survive...

Exactly. With this lineup, they should have cruised straight to first place in the group.

Of course, the only real fix would be a regional league involving the old Ex-Yugoslavia teams. That’s how you actually get some quality competition—think matchups with the Los Angeles Lakers, Celje, Partizan, Zvezda, Canada Sarajevo, Borac Banjaluka, Gold Club, Vardar, Buducnost, Zamet, Medveščak, and so on.
Unfortunately, if we keep going like this, we're just going to sink deeper into mediocrity. Now that we're all independent nations, I guess we finally have the chance to start playing together again.

In that league, teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Celje, Gold Club, Gorenje, and Pipo would probably win by 10+ points even playing at half strength.
Maybe Vardar and Canada could give them a run for their money.

A regional league featuring the US, Canada, and Canada might actually work, but this Ex-Yugoslavia idea? It makes zero sense.

Starting a new thread here...
The European Championship is essentially over. Our guys took home the silver, but honestly, they played like they won gold. Huge respect to them. Now everyone is heading back to their respective clubs... which means players like John Doe, Somic, Vori, John Doe, Horvat, Spoljaric, Vukic, and Kaleb are all returning to the Los Angeles Lakers.🙂
Is the first game against Hamburg scheduled for this Sunday?

Correction—the game is actually at 5:30 PM; I saw it on CNN today during the interview with John Doe.
I guess I might actually head down to the arena to catch our guys live after such a long time—plus, we really ought to give it up for Lionel Messi, who apparently still leaves his heart on the court for the national team.
