The schedule is finally out, and we’ve only got five days left. Like you guys already mentioned, our first game is against San Antonio, and the refs are John Doe. Then we're on the road against New York City just four days later on Feb 14th.

Here's the lineup for the remaining four games:

State Farm vs. Golden State Warriors on 02.24.2008
State Farm vs. New York Yankees on 03.02.2008
Portland Trail Blazers vs. State Farm on 03.09.2008
Golden State Warriors vs. State Farm on 03.16.2008

The last two are away games. I'm hoping we can snag at least one or two wins so the finale isn't a total bore.

So far, LeBron James is leading the team with 47 goals. Tiger Woods has 27, and John Doe has 25. John Doe is fourth with 24. Everyone else is sitting under 12.

LeBron James is also currently the top scorer in the Champions League.

BTW, the local youth squad played a club from my neighborhood the other day. Even though they were missing a few guys, there's definitely some talent there.

Mark Ruiz8 said:I'm thinking about finally making the trip down to the arena to catch our guys playing live, especially since we have a legend like Lionel Messi there who truly deserves a standing ovation for giving his absolute all for the national team.

Got my ticket 🙏, so after wanting this for such a long time, I'll finally get to experience a high-level handball game in person.

The second round of the Champions League kicked off today. The Czech Bear just edged out Ademar with a 30:28 win.

Looking at the numbers, half of the top 16—that's 8 teams right there—are coming straight out of Germany and Spain (4:4). You've also got two teams each from Canada and France, plus one each from Canada, America, Russia, and Denmark.

Caught the last 20 minutes of the game yesterday—man, what a wild finish. Honestly, my heart goes out to anyone who had X on this one...
The Bears go into the final minute up by one, holding possession, but playing a man down. They get a 7m penalty which John Doe saves, but somehow the ball bounces right back to Russ at the line, and he hits the post.
Ademar attacks half a minute before the buzzer, and the Russians pick up another penalty for a deliberate foot foul. So Ademar is attacking 6 against 4, and they pull the goalie too, making it basically 7 against 4. Then, about 10 seconds left, someone from Ademar travels 😂 and the Bears score on a fast break in the final second to make it 30:28.🤣

On another note, looks like Caleb won't be able to play this Sunday; he's still dealing with that rib injury from the game against France. I read they brought in little John Doe from their loan team over in the Forest to help out, though he can play for FC Barcelona in the Champions League.

So, I'm driving all the way from San Diego to catch the game tomorrow,
is there any chance I’ll show up and realize I can't actually get in because there are no tickets left?

This is my first time ever heading to an ice arena (I’m a total newbie when it comes to this stuff, 😁 )
and I really don't want to end up making a massive trip out to the big city just to be turned away at the door 😢

the gym will probably be half empty

though you can never underestimate those hyperactive high schoolers who’ll show up just to see Balić

but man, you can never count out those hyper kids from the local high schools who'll show up just to see Balić play, right?

😂

Nah, you're wrong this time🙂....I'd bet everything I own that I'm mistaken, but I actually called ahead and the lady told me the place is sold out. There might be a couple of tickets left, so I'm running to grab them tomorrow since I'm an idiot for not going today🙂
At least if we can catch a glimpse of that old-school vibe (and we all know exactly who needs to show up for that), maybe we can pull off a win or at least give them a run for their money!👍

Jerry Chavez49 said:You’re off base this time—really.🙂I’d give it a 100%—I actually called ahead myself, and the woman on the line told me the venue is completely sold out. There might be a few tickets left floating around, so I’m planning to run down there tomorrow to snag them—damn, I really kicked myself for not just going today!🙂
If we could just recapture even a fraction of that old magic—and we all know exactly who needs to step up to make that happen—we might actually stand a chance at winning. Or, at the very least, put up a hell of a fight!👍

So, what's the verdict? Is it officially sold out, or are we still in the game? 😕 Someone mentioned the other day—one of the ladies was saying—that if you swing by this Sunday when the ticket booths open, you should be all set to grab your passes. 🤷

So, what I’m telling you is, there’s only a handful of tickets left. They’ll probably be gone by tomorrow once the box office opens up, though... everything else already sold out.🙂

The buying spree has officially kicked off. Canada is facing off against Kolding, and you can catch the live broadcast on CNN. It’s 9-7 for Canada in the 10th minute, featuring a former Golden State Warriors player.

If we could just recapture a fraction of that old atmosphere—and we all know exactly who needs to step up to make that happen—maybe we’d actually see a win. Or at least some decent resistance.👍

Looking at this San Antonio roster, I can't help but notice they're operating without Hvidt now 😢
. Honestly, aside from Balić and Jorgensen, they don't really have anyone left who stood out during the recent European Championships, so isn't it any surprise they've slipped down to third place in the Spanish league?

Hvidt headed over to Barcelona before this season kicked off (just like Lozano and Rocas).
It’s true that besides Balić, Jorgensen, and maybe old Tommy Svensson, nobody from Portland really stood out at the EP, but there are still some decent players on the roster. You've got Vugrinec and Nikolić who didn't even make the EP squad, Kjelling, who hasn't been himself since his injury, little Ruesga stepping up nicely for Ivan in the middle, and the new Spaniard joining Portland Malmagro (they lean heavily on him and Vugrinec in the offense, especially when Balić isn't in the lineup).

I caught a few of their games in the Asobal league this season. They aren't a bad squad, but they aren't on Barcelona's level—not even close based on individual names—and definitely not on par with Ciudad Real, which is absolutely loaded with stars. So, I'm not surprised to see them sitting in third place this season, tied with Ademar. Honestly, looking at the power balance in the Asobal, that seems pretty realistic.

Looks like the arena is packed. We’ve been leading the whole time, now we just need to hold the pace.

15:12 The Golden State Warriors are playing well, though I must say, Portland isn't quite what they used to be.
