A single scene—maybe a minute, maybe three—which, to a layman like myself, all tend to blur together regardless of how much tension or entertainment they pack in. Yet, certain moments truly sear themselves into my memory. It’s usually down to the choreography, the sheer creativity of the violence, the characters involved, or even just the setting itself. For instance, looking at more recent stuff, this one from the movie *protector* sticks with me, as does that sequence in *Kill Bill Vol. 2* where those two blondes go absolutely feral on each other—honestly, that scrap is the only redeeming quality of an otherwise mediocre film.
Right here
But if we’re talking long-term memory, I can still vividly recall that final showdown in *Terminator 2*—that liquid metal Terminator twisting and flowing as it absolutely dismantles Schwarzenegger—and, of course, that Ace Ventura fight against the transvestite 🤣. Then there are a handful of others scattered throughout various kung fu flicks...
Which specific scenes would you pick out as the most unforgettable physical confrontations between two or more characters, and what made them hit so hard for you?

That fight with the cow in Kung Pow is probably the most... 😁

Just watching some absolute chaos go down at the local fight club—straight up street brawl vibes until someone finally hits the floor. It’s raw, man... honestly can't get any more unfiltered than this.

Fight Club - Norton basically beats the hell out of himself🙂
Even in The Godfather, you've got Sonny ( 😍 ) just stomping and laying into that bastard Carl (who's a total jerk)

I can think of plenty more...

Anything from Ong Bak or even the first Matrix would work perfectly

Plus, let's be honest, Jackie Chan has plenty of gems in his older stuff too...

The aerial combat sequences in today's films feel utterly hollow to me. A woman takes a punch straight to the skull, flies three feet into the air, and then just stands right back up—no blood, no bruises, hair still perfectly styled... it’s like something out of a fever dream. It's a total disaster. You just can't find those gritty, visceral brawls like you used to see in classic Clint Eastwood westerns...
Even my experience with Fight Club - Norton felt superior by comparison; there wasn't some endless five-minute karate ritual.
If a fight doesn't leave someone's face looking absolutely wrecked, what's even the point?

One of the standout fight sequences from Oldboy, captured in a single continuous shot through that hallway—just one guy armed with a hammer taking on about ten thugs at once. It’s brutal.😬
In my opinion, Asian cinema generally delivers much more visceral and well-choreographed action than anything we see coming out of Hollywood lately.

Depends on who you ask. Personally, I’m not into those samurai flicks or all that flashy kung fu choreography. I prefer raw brawls—just pure fistfights and grappling.

Think about that scene in Goodfellas where Pesci and De Niro are just staring down that guy who insulted Pesci—the camera stays locked on De Niro’s face while you just hear those dull, sickening thuds of a shoe hitting bone. It's visceral. 🙏 🙏 🙏
It’s the same kind of raw energy in Donnie Brasac when they corner that guy in the restroom just because he insisted someone take off their shoes. They absolutely wreck him—and then, to top it off, they grab a trash can and start using it as a weapon. 🤣 🙏 🙏

It's the same deal in Donnie Brasac when they absolutely wreck that Chinese guy in the restroom just because he insisted someone take their shoes off. They straight up beat him senseless—one of them even grabs a trash can and starts whaling on him with it. 🤣 🙏 🙏

I'm watching Donnie tonight

🙏 🙏 🙏 Especially regarding They Live—as for The Punisher, I actually dig it mainly because of that one fight. Otherwise, it's just okay.

Mila Jovović in The Fifth Element during that fight scene with the mutants.
And Mel Gibson in The Wiretap—you know, when he’s hanging there getting hit with those electric shocks but somehow manages to pull through... if I remember that right.
