I mean, honestly—where do we even start? I was just sitting here thinking about how everything seems to be shifting lately, and I can’t help but feel like we’re all just circling the drain a little bit. Maybe it’s just me, though—I could be totally off base here—but there’s this sense that things aren't quite clicking the way they used to. It’s like... I don't know, have you ever felt like you're running a race where the finish line keeps moving? Just a thought. Anyway, I digress. What was I saying? Right. The whole situation. It’s messy, it’s complicated, and frankly, it’s getting a bit ridiculous if you ask me. I guess we'll see how it plays out, but my money isn't exactly on a smooth landing. kaže:
Good grief, it feels like we’re living in some third-world chaos—honestly, it's like we've been dropped straight into the middle of a disaster zone.

Wait, what? Is this actually happening right now? I feel like I’m losing my mind—just staring at the screen wondering if I missed a memo or if everyone just collectively decided to stop making sense today. I mean, seriously... oktopod? Is that really the vibe we're going for? It feels like one of those weird, half-baked inside jokes that somehow made its way onto the main feed without anyone checking to see if it actually meant anything. I guess maybe I'm just out of the loop, or maybe I've just been spending too much time scrolling through these threads lately—which, honestly, is a problem in itself—but still. It's just... odd. Really odd. Anyway, moving on, I suppose. kaže:
That’s basically the sound of your personal trainer working up a sweat with your girlfriend while you’re out losing your mind to Rage Against the Machine. 😍

Man, you are seriously out of line—you’re acting like some total loose cannon from Nicaragua or something. Seriously. 🙏 🙏 🙏 Since you aren't even in The Hold Steady anymore...

coppermarlin812 said:Things got a little heated for a second there...

So, you're telling me that when the speakers kick in, they just... turn into robots? Or like, they start acting like some kind of glitchy AI? I mean, I guess I don't really get what you're driving at here—is this about a specific piece of gear or just a general vibe? Because honestly, if my sound system started acting possessed, I’d probably lose my mind—just totally freak out—but maybe it's just a weird digital processing thing? I don't know, it sounds super sketchy. It's like when you're listening to a track and suddenly the audio feels all synthetic and lifeless—kind of like those cheap synth presets you hear everywhere—and it just kills the whole mood. I guess it depends on what you mean by "robots," though. Are we talking about a literal malfunction or just a really bad EQ setting? Hard to say without more info, I suppose. 😳

Let's get back to talking about bracelets—honestly, I’m still recovering from the sheer struggle of trying to get this one off my wrist earlier. 😳

😍 😍 😍 😍

Is it really such a disgrace or an eyesore to wear a festival wristband on your arm?

Did everyone who parked on the grass actually get ticketed?

Well, it's more of a shame than anything, but it's a total eyesore when the wristband is covered in ugly sponsor logos🤮 and honestly, the accessories just suck

We were parked right on the grass by the main entrance and didn't get hit with any fines at all

Anyone catch the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival? How was it? I went, but honestly... maybe I'm just getting too old for this. I couldn't handle the whole grind from start to finish, so I ended up rolling in way too late 😢

Man, my left shoulder is trashed. Seriously though, Bio killed it. And honestly, !!! were basically built for Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 😍
the singer's jersey 😲

Melkior—you know, Octopus's brother—was decent with his band, but Rage Against the Machine needs to be sent straight to Nicaragua ☕

All in all? Solid festival. As for all those people whining about corporate sponsors or local politicians like some big-shot CEO, do us all a favor: go find some underground anti-establishment DIY fest and practice your juggling instead.👋

Man, day two was a massive improvement over the first 🙂

There were hardly any lines anywhere—I actually managed to snag some Chinese food (seriously, people, Chinese food at a festival in Washington, D.C. 🙏 😁 )—and while rain was definitely threatening, it stayed away during the headliners.

The Hold Steady—what even is that? Is this meant to be fun? So boooooring...

The Roots—excellent too, though I don't have much else to say about them.

!!! —those guys are absolutely wild. Incredible. I'd never heard of them before, but they totally won me over.
Unfortunately, after half an hour, we had to sprint over to see Iggy Pop, who kicked things off at exactly 10:20 PM.

Iggy Pop! 😍
Long live Iggy Pop! 🙏
I saw Iggy Pop and now I can die in peace 😬
(though I think his solo stuff is slightly better edition).

All the side activities were great, too—the VIP areas and all that...
I picked up the standard festival "kit," got some sleeping bags, and even won a t-shirt during the VIP music trivia 😁 and whatnot.

I'm happy 🙂

Is that from the Italians?
I honestly thought for a second you were gonna start belting out some anthem about guarding the border at the Mississippi.

It was alright—just your typical second day at a two-day fest, though there was definitely more movement than on day one.

The Hold Steady were a blast, but unfortunately they played too early, so I missed most of them.
!!!—good, actually better live than they are on their records.👍
The Roots—a massive letdown compared to that epic show they put on at The Fillmore about five years ago.👎 They played one track with "Community music," and honestly, they just finished up with Banging on the door of the fortress Europe (for the record, I suggested they pair that song with screenings in Brussels😁).
Iggy Pop was a total coma.👎 👎 The guy sounds like he’s just playing covers of himself.🙂
It makes me think back to 1993 when I ended up sleeping on the train station platform in Ljubljana, while some drunk bum screamed some old-school Canadian folk song right into my ear.🙂
Bad, just bad!

All in all, despite the messy organization, it was still a good time. This city needs a festival like this to wrap up the summer.

Look, I honestly don't get it, Zachary Bishop82, what did you actually expect from Iggy Pop anyway? 🤔 He's been the exact same way for decades now.

He was tearing up the stage 👋👋👋 they absolutely shredded him, so I was just trying to keep things under control 😳

Damn buns 🙂

The Hold Steady. Really likable guys. Their sound is solid, nothing to complain about.

The Roots. Great groove, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. Too bad I was stuck wearing a backpack.

!!!. It’s a total experience only if you're fully engaged, because otherwise, it feels like nothing more than an endurance sport. I’m going to try my best to scrub that frontman from my memory.

The Stooges. Honestly, they were even better than I expected.

Can anyone give me some context for this take? What went wrong? Was it the energy levels or perhaps the setlist selection?

🤣

just the highlights here: "The bottom line is whether those international acts—you know, the ones from the US and UK—even belonged on the second night. Especially since half of them weren't even half as good as the heavy hitters we've been seeing locally lately.

Aside from The Hold Steady, it turns out neither Iggy Pop nor Iggy Pop can hold a candle to Mother or Štuka." 🙂🙏 🙏

When I remember sleeping on a train station platform in Ljubljana back in '93 because of him 🙂
Bad, just bad!

I was actually at his concert in Ljubljana back then too—and even caught him again at Šalat a year later. That Ljubljana show was killer—great crowd, great vibes, great sound—but at Šalat, it was just 500 cold, bored people watching 🤮

That said, I'll say it: Iggy with The Stooges last night was way better than both those shows combined 🙂

Hey, he really gave it everything he had last night 🙏 🙏

His set, along with SY, was definitely the highlight of the festival.

Ugh, and to think I almost skipped him yesterday because I thought he’d be a snooze fest 😵

Edit:
Gonna drop my thoughts on the rest now before I lose interest:
The Hold Steady — after all the hype, I expected way more. Decent enough pub rock, but nothing special. Honestly, I just sat there thinking: "Man, that's basically what Vatropod will look like when they grow up" 🙂
AFD — predictably boring at times, though they actually sounded awesome for a second there when they forced me to start jumping around like I was a kid again image
!!! — started out strong, totally unexpected, and the stereo sound was phenomenal (shoutout to the guy at the mixing board 🙏). They turned into Skunk Anansie halfway through, which at least gave me a good excuse to hurry over so I wouldn't miss Iggy Pop & The Stooges.
Iggy Pop & The Stooges — see above. Thanks to him for being just Iggy last night instead of Pop.
Kultur Shock — I mean, I was curious to see what kind of scam Đino banana pulled on Americans and how "maći moj malen" would work with a grunge vibe. I'll admit, their stage presence is impressive, but after five songs, it just became unlistenable and I bailed right before the rain hit... 🙂

zasluživati citat:

"At 9:45 PM, right after Štuka played, they took the stage !!! (chk chk chk). Following a theatrical drum roll, this New York band forced their aggressive dance rhythm on us, except for one massive issue: overhyped death metal vocals that absolutely kill the groove."

😲 🙏 😘 😵
