Is it something like this? 😬

Does the symbolism of popping corporate bubbles actually trump the literal paycheck you get from playing a corporate festival?

I'm over all this corporate nonsense. Just glued my bracelet back together, hopefully it holds up.

Those wristbands are a total joke 👍
Though, I suppose I have to agree that they really should have clarified the rules at the entrance.
And honestly, since I don't happen to carry a tiny collapsible umbrella, what happens now? Are they seriously going to deny me entry just because I have a regular one?! 🤮
On another note, the Happy Mondays were absolutely top-tier tonight 👋 Reverend Black Grape 👋 was great too
Shaun was definitely feeling the vibe 🙏 🙏 :SS
The only downside was those two guys on the left side who actually know how to play their instruments but looked like they weren't having any fun at all. You could tell by the looks on their faces that they couldn't care less about anyone else there 😬
Sonic was incredible—no debate about it.
I also caught maybe two or three songs from Colored, which probably would have been great if someone else were doing the singing. Is that guy—you know, the Cobra Cobra Debra whatshisname—really just reading lyrics off a teleprompter or something?!! 🙏 🙏 🙏
By the way, did anyone else try to buy Marlboros last night? Or was that just my own spectacularly stupid idea for a festival move?

What a voice, what incredible rhythm
I absolutely adore her 😍

some of those acts felt more like amateur garage bands than actual headliners...
Honestly, I just hope this guy wanders into as many terrible festivals as possible so he can finally lose that pretentious attitude 🙏

So I just hit up the grocery store with my ten dollar gift cards
And the cashier tells me I can't use them to buy semolina
Like, why though?
The card doesn't say anything about certain items being off-limits 🙂

I’m just sitting here listening to KROQ, and they’re reporting that the organizers actually went over the PA system to apologize to the crowd, promising they'll be setting up seven more food and drink stands later today to handle the chaos.
They didn't say a single word about those ripped wristbands, though.

Hey there.
Unlike you guys, who apparently had a miserable time thanks to some subpar organization, I actually didn't have a bad experience. Everyone seems to be complaining about those massive lines for food and chicken, but since I showed up around 4:30, I grabbed everything I wanted in five minutes flat. It got crowded later on, though I barely noticed because my girlfriend was too busy trying to calculate how much we’d need for two coffees, four beers, water, and a grilled cheese sandwich (yeah, we’re big fans of saving 😁). It took a while, but she figured it out before we even hit the queue.
The nighttime stuff was actually great—thank God people have smartphones 🙏
The sets were mostly okay. Some played at half-capacity stages, but they were pretty mediocre; just some wannabe rockers who felt the need to plug their damn new albums after every single song. I only stuck around because my girl was dancing her heart out... 🙂
After that, we were already mentally bracing ourselves for the afterparty. *Ku Klux Klan, Ku Klux Klan* Second line 😁 Who 🙂 Kim 😍
We headed home in a total trance, honestly having no clue which way we were going or where we were even headed. Right as we were exiting the park, my girlfriend realized we had $13 unused vouchers left over. So, we ended up trekking all the way back 😵
They were offering them to people for $30, but in the end, we got them from this nice guy who just wanted us to take his picture—he gave us $50 worth... 🤣
Hopefully, everyone gets luckier next year. We managed to pull it off... 👋

Rigorous security checks? My ass. Some heavy-duty Gorilla Glue would solve all their problems. Honestly though, I really hope someone hits them with a massive lawsuit... how did everyone with those fake tickets fare today?
The organization is actually looking up today—shorter lines and the sound system is sooo much better.
Hold Steady—which usually isn't my vibe—absolutely crushed it and were super chill. I barely made it through two songs on the floor before needing a breather. The Asian Dub Foundation, who mostly play stuff I'm not into (and nothing related to community music), were actually incredible. Like, seriously, at times they were just amazing!!! The energy was insane, just pure dancing and madness. Only catch is that Nicholas Perez33 looks like some 80s fitness instructor :cerek. Caught Iggy right at the end. Total chaos and mayhem. Interesting, but that's about it. They sounded to me like some cover band doing a weird version of The Stooges.
Long story short, both days: solid music, pathetic organization.

frontmen is totally losing it on some random guy on a forum. 😍 😁
ADF is complete garbage.
!!! they just played all the old stuff, total waste of time.
Iggy Pop deserves the electric chair
one of the tents was playing nothing but pure country music 😳
now that's a real review 😢

Henry Edwards30 said:I wonder if the whole "anti-corporate" symbolism gets lost when they perform at a massive corporate-sponsored festival like Coachella.
Wait, really? Where did you get that idea? 😲 🤣
Honestly... I think it might be the worst organized festival out there, maybe since those old rock marathons back in the late eighties. It feels like those big, shady corporations are just meddling in everything again.

The best part was definitely that merch tent with all the Green Day tees 🤣
But I really loved those massive white VIP balloons... could you actually buy them or were people just STEALING them? 🙂
It's starting to rain. Good luck to everyone still stuck out at the festival grounds... 😁

Keep your cool... honestly, the best part of the whole festival. Everything else could have been handled way better, if you ask me—especially looking at today's lineup. I really expected the live performances to have a different kind of energy... just didn't quite hit the mark
#499 ·
...Look, I’m basically part of the "get off my lawn" crowd, so it takes a lot to actually impress me... but Hold Steady totally blew me away today.🙏 🙏

slypilot13, don't blame the sponsors for the mess; they dropped enough cash to book huge acts, the real issue is the organizer, that guy from Multiculture.
I guess those country fans were having a total culture shock... 🤣 we're heading home now because all we can hear are the brass bands, while the "indie crowd" is right next to us—what even is this? Is this some weird carnival or what?! 🤣
