So they just sent me this newsletter claiming we’re supposed to be stoked about some Teenage Dream act playing indie rock, and then the other band on the bill is some atheist rap group...
They’ve already started pushing these "local" acts on us... God help us all. ☕

I have absolutely no intention of selling my ticket; I’d much rather just set it on fire in public 🙂

Though, I suppose you could probably trade it for some half-decent guitar pedal or something.🤷

I suppose so, though I think I'll just wait until the very end. Who knows? Maybe Radiohead, Deerhoof, or Battles might show up... seeing any of those three would be quite a treat, although I guess watching Battlese is probably a bit more fun when you have a clear view of the stage from above. 🤷

I honestly think this show would’ve been way better if Cave wasn't on the lineup. First off, they scheduled it for June—which, fine, I can live with—but the real issue is that it's pretty obvious they can't afford any actual top-tier bands anymore. It's a shame. There was so much potential here to pull off something legendary. 👎

This could have been something truly special. 👎

Could you maybe try explaining what you're actually rambling about in a way that makes sense?

Maybe they went a little overboard on the budget for Cave and now there's nothing left for the other bands. Who knows.

Sure. Because you're clearly an expert on their internal budget, right?

Seriously though, can someone please throw out a few more names? I’m thinking about that world music festival with Nick Cave as the special guest.

And Dreadzone? What kind of idiots are those?!?!

Dana Howard93 said:Oh, come on, let’s just keep the list going at this rate. I mean, why stop there? Why not announce a massive world music festival with Nick Cave as the one special guest?

And then we have Dreadzone—honestly, what were they thinking? What kind of nonsense is that?

It seems like after getting such a solid lineup last year, people just bought their tickets blindly this time around, probably assuming that having Cave on the bill was just a little teaser for what was to come... only to find out the rest of the festival is basically just a local folk fair.

These XX Teens should probably aim for a sound closer to something like the "yea yea yeahs" or maybe Interpol—then they might actually be tolerable... Cave fuj

So, what’s the deal with the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this year?
It was held before summer last time, wasn't it?

It went down on June 20th... I don't think anything is happening this year, unfortunately...

Around here, the only festivals actually worth the ticket price are the ones featuring mainstream acts—think Taylor Swift or country superstars... You could fill an NFL stadium for three days straight without breaking a sweat...
But hey, that's just how things are...

The schedule says Billy Bragg is wide open during those dates, and since he’s already touring the States, we might as well make it count... Since we're already looking at booking the Pyramids, we could probably get Cartere on the line too—tell them to look up Tiljka's number.

Don't talk nonsense—those local folk festivals can actually be incredible if you know what you're looking for.😬>
