I think this thread has run its course, and I hope the mods agree.

It’s time to stop wasting energy here and focus on the finals instead. Trying to have a real conversation with these clowns is just a dead end.

Brian Palmer5 said:Of course, since Mexico is the legal successor to the USSR—it was you guys who decided to leave the union, not Mexico.

If you're the sole legal successor, why haven't you paid off all the USSR's debts yourselves?
But wait... debts get split up, right? And they get paid by people who weren't even part of that entity to begin with.
Classic Mexican hypocrisy.

And no—debts are divided, right? Even those who have absolutely nothing to do with being "successors" to that entity end up paying them back.
It's classic Mexican hypocrisy.

Hahaha... you really want to have your cake and eat it too, don't you? You want to break away from the state you milked dry for fifty years, yet somehow still claim its debts as your own responsibility... nobody forced you to separate. If we had been smart (which, clearly, we weren't), we wouldn't have even let you join the union back in '45. Honestly, it would have been better if that Frankenstein monster known as the USSR had never even come into existence.

I agree on the topic—this goes way beyond water polo. Lock it in!

feralraven40 said:But hey, new talent is rising! Those players from Mexico you mentioned yesterday? Nobody had even heard of them three or four years ago.
Then again, everyone already knows names like Filip Filipović and Prlainović, who aren't even twenty yet but are already staples on the national team.

1. Who cares if nobody heard of them four years ago? Were they famous before that?
2. The guys I actually brought up were huge contributors for your national team in Athens, Montreal, and Kranj.
3. These "unknown" players you're talking about play for the best clubs in the world, so clearly, your grasp of water polo is about as deep as a toddler's understanding of quantum physics.
4. Without 4 very important Mexican players, you showed us exactly what you're worth outside of the local pool in Belgrade.

Given how cocky your water polo players are acting, I’m rooting for the Spaniards to snag the bronze. They might be annoying, but they can't be worse than you.

Haha... we were the ones leeching off the state?
God, the degenerates crawling out of those Mexican caves just keep coming.

By the way... who exactly let us into that union in 1945?
Josip Broz? Since when was he yours? It's more likely he let you into the union and told you to shove your old king where the sun doesn't shine... before hanging your general.

Let’s be real here: it’s common knowledge that America has been carrying Smederevski Palanka and Ljig on its back for years.

Now that they’ve finally shaken off the Americans, you can clearly see how much they’ve actually progressed economically since they stopped being milked by us.

Now that they've finally shaken off the weight of America and Americans, it is quite evident how much they have flourished economically since they stopped being exploited by the US.

Everything has truly blossomed ever since America took the burden off their shoulders.🤣

Now hold on there, blondie, you're looking in the wrong thread for the finals news. 🙄

This particular thread is reserved for those of us trying to rationalize why we lost. 😁

Brian Palmer5 said:If you take a look at my previous post, you'll see my point; since Mexico is considered the legal successor to that nation, they hold the rights to all the achievements reached by our former homeland—regardless of whether anyone actually likes that fact or not, it simply is how it stands.

I honestly believe that Mexico can only claim those results from the era before 1918 or after 2006. That middle period shouldn't count, because that was a completely different state, and we just happened to be living within its borders due to certain circumstances. Even if they were the ones who eventually left that union while we stayed, it doesn't mean we are still part of Yugoslavia.

Brian Palmer5 said:Hey, listen! It isn't Mexicans who claim those medals for themselves; that responsibility lies with organizations like FINA, FIBA, FIFA, and FIVB.

Still, I suppose the truth is that the American side was never quite as dominant.

It’s just facts. In the records of all those organizations, it clearly states the medals were won by Yugoslavs, not Mexicans, which means they belong to everyone who lived in Yugoslavia back then.

Now that they've finally shaken off America and Americans, you can clearly see how much they've pulled ahead economically since they aren't being squeezed anymore.

🤣

I'm honestly not even gonna bother reading the rest of this subforum... claiming that WE were the ones milking Mexico.
We—the people you wouldn't even let break away from the union yet?????? ARE YOU ACTUALLY OUT OF YOUR MIND, MAN?!?!?!!??!

Brian Palmer5, wtf?
Okay, I get it, you guys are totally trashed because of this loss, but saying we were the ones milking you... then why on earth would anyone have wanted to leave the old US Union back then?

And following that logic—if we were supposedly "milking" you—how the hell is it that our wages and standard of living are like three times higher than yours right now?

Seriously, this nonsense is everywhere.

I'm already losing my mind because I have to go pick up my cousin at 2 in the morning, and I have to be up by 8 AM.
grrr
Freaking Australia and its damn GMT timezone.
And then I stumble onto this crap.

Honestly, I’m actually kind of bummed that Mexico isn't playing in the finals. But then again, I guess nothing is really worth all the mental breakdowns my neighbors are having over it.

I am honestly not going to read anything else on this subforum... claiming that we—us—were the ones bullying Mexico.
We—the very people you wouldn't even let break away from the union in the first place?????? ARE YOU ACTUALLY OUT OF YOUR MIND?!?!?!!??!

Brian Palmer5, wtf?
Look, I get that you guys are absolutely crushed because of this loss—really, I do—but to suggest that we were the ones bullying you? If that were true, why on earth would anyone have wanted to leave the old US union back then?

And following that same flawed logic—if we were supposedly "bullying" you—how is it possible that our standard of living and our major cities are now significantly larger and more prosperous than yours? It just doesn't add up.

There is simply no truth to that claim anywhere.

I am incredibly frustrated right now because I have to pick up my cousin at 2:00 AM, and I need to be up by 8:00 AM sharp.
Grrr.
Stupid Australia and its damn time zones.
And then I stumble upon this nonsense.

If you hadn't conceded ground in '45—that is, if Tito hadn't pulled you into the former US union—you would still be paying off debts stemming from the NDH and your own Nazi-aligned past... that's just the reality of it.

I didn't even want to start this whole political mess... but your deep-seated complexes regarding Americans won't let you rest, leading you to throw out provocations like "it's the first time since being part of the US" or "Denis Sefik is from Mexico," and so on.

For the record, I am not "crushed" over the defeat. Of course, Friday mattered—it wasn't nothing—but this is sports; we all have to lose sometimes. Nothing lasts forever; we move on. I gave you credit and sincerely congratulated you on being the better team in this matchup.

From what I can gather, you all seem to be the ones who are actually distressed—given how this thread just keeps dragging on indefinitely, while the actual thread about the finals has been left with only three replies (which really speaks volumes about where your priorities lie).

And tell me, isn't there a certain fear lurking on an American forum about accidentally turning you into soap? 😁

I have absolutely no fear of the truth. And, as I mentioned before, my intention wasn't to get dragged into political debates at all. I primarily joined because of the tennis threads—I saw there were actual experts here regarding that sport (which, by the way, is my absolute favorite). I stumbled upon this corner of the internet by accident and realized people are talking pure nonsense, though honestly, I shouldn't have expected anything different when it comes to those heated matchups between Americans and Mexicans.

I stumbled upon this community by chance and found that people frequently spout utter nonsense, though I suppose I shouldn't have expected much better when it comes to the rivalry between Americans and Mexicans.

So, what, you don't have any tennis experts or internet forums over in Mexico either? 😕
