I have to agree, those edits felt a bit too much for me. It was kind of like watching *Where Eagles Dare* all over again.

In my opinion, You Are My Sunshine is the best one.😬

hahahaha 🤣

But seriously—I don't care what anyone else thinks—to me, Isolation sounds way better in the Therapy version than in the original. It’s got that classic, dark Therapy? vibe—that raw energy that hits you right in the gut and just refuses to let go. I've always thought about this... honestly, it might be the one track where I actually prefer the cover over the original.

The point of the song isn't about raw power or just hitting someone in the gut—that’s not what it's getting at, much like how people misread the meaning behind Isolation. 😲
Isolation—it’s basically just that raw, rudimentary rhythm machine and a synthesizer recorded inside a refrigerator.

Honestly, they should have just dealt with the "Dianes" by hitting them square in the gut.

Zato se i radi obrada - da od postojece stvari napravis nesto novo i drugacije (nekome mozda i bolje od originala). Cemu inace obrada? Da mozes reci "Evo vidite ljudi, i ja sam isto otpjevao "Knockin' on heaven's door!"? Onda mozes otici na karaoke party i potrudit se otpjevat svoju omiljenu pjesmu sto blize originalu.

I might actually prefer the Therapy version of Isolation, though honestly, it’s a toss-up... I rarely find any other Therapy track that beats out the Joy Division originals 🙂

wiredbadger4 said:That’s the whole point of a cover—you take something existing and turn it into something fresh and distinct (maybe even better than the original, if you play your cards right). Otherwise, what's the purpose? To just say, "Hey everyone, look, I sang 'Knockin' on heaven's door' too!"? If that's the goal, just head to a karaoke bar and try to mimic the record as closely as possible.

Sure, but in that case, it makes more sense to cover something that wasn't actually perfect to begin with.

I don't see how that makes the Therapy version better, I guess.😕

Isolation is basically just that primitive drum machine and a synth recorded in a fridge
p.s. they probably should've done "Diane" with all that heavy-hitting energy instead

Yeah, fair point.

Just got back from the show.
It was honestly pretty great, though it flew by way too fast—only about an hour and fifteen minutes total.
The crowd was awesome and really into it, and I appreciated that they didn't just push a "one size fits all" setlist on us.
They played a little bit of everything, including about 6 or 7 tracks from the Troublegum era (which I think is fair, since their stuff after that wasn't nearly as strong, even though they actually have nine albums in total). Overall, it was a solid gig, but let's be real: their prime definitely peaked about a decade ago. Plus, the sound quality was absolute garbage.😢

Here is my take. Hebeno is powerful.
The drummer is fantastic, and the bassist is just as good
Those three sound better than five people combined (at least)
🙏
Kudos to them! They play like they're ten years younger
Oh yeah! Isolation was absolutely Hebeno!!!
(The opening act was pretty sad and boring)

So, basically, a minute ran me about $0.33 🙂

That sounds perfectly reasonable 😁
every single minute was worth it
(as for the sound system, I suppose it depended on where you stood, and I managed to snag a great spot)

It reminded me this morning of the first Ramones concert in New York City about 16 years ago; the acoustics were terrible, but the overall experience was absolutely grand 😬
Man, things were truly hard to make out back then...

Well, if I’m going to weigh in: back during their opening act, I was browsing through some files on my iPod via an unsecured WiFi hotspot 😁, and as for Therapy? I listened to pretty much their entire discography. To be honest, the production had that old-school, muddy quality—it’s frankly baffling to me how anyone could claim it sounded good ANYWHERE...
They played all the hits, which was fine, but I didn't end up buying anything besides a beer. 🙂

I was just thinking about the first time I saw the Ramones in New York City—must've been something like 16 years ago. The sound system was absolutely atrocious, but man, the whole vibe was legendary 😬

The first show got canceled, only the second one actually happened. Depends on how you look at it, I guess 😬

But yeah, the sound was total garbage. Halfway through the set, my crew and I bailed to the hallway to grab some beers and we never even bothered coming back. It sounded better outside—at least then you could actually tell what they were playing. A bad show is a bad show. Doesn't matter if there's 15,000 people there or just a hundred nobodies at some dive bar. For me, the Ramones totally lost their magic right then and there

On topic: glad to hear things went okay for you at Therapy last night 🙂

Feeling lucky 🙂

Look, regardless of all those sound issues—which honestly weren't even that bad from where I was standing—I had an absolute blast. It was totally worth waiting since the turn of the millennium for this moment.
After catching up with the band, they seem like genuinely great people.

Feeling lucky 🙂

It was a hit, though I couldn't quite put my finger on why 😬 it likely came down to the booze and those mindless radio anthems 😳

It’s honestly pathetic that while an Irish band and an Australian group were playing massive shows in D.C. at the exact same time 🤣 what a joke 🤣

The whole arena-rock choreography and those solos over a Joy Division cover felt aggressively postmodern 🙏

Cairns was just fat and ridiculous 🙂

Word on the street is they caught me on TV acting like a total punk 🙂
