How do I change my username?

Yeah, that was an option back when admins wanted to change someone's username for you... but honestly, I think it's better that they can't do it anymore.

That actually came straight from the forum admins. It wasn't us; it was the vBulletin crew. The forum moderator made it clear that NO ONE is allowed to change their username unless it’s just minor formatting stuff, like fixing capitalization, adding a hyphen or space, or adjusting an accent mark.

And just get rid of those damn little dots already—they're driving me absolutely insane...😢

Seriously, what is wrong with the mod? They just let anyone change their username whenever they feel like it without any rules at all.

The problem is this forum is too crowded, and everyone posts so much that people are constantly changing their usernames.

A forum member who used the handle "John Smith" had their username changed to "Ignoramus"—though, mind you, all their post counts, personal data, and everything else stayed exactly the same.
This whole thing happened back around June of '06, I believe.

Technically, the option is still there. It’s just that nobody really does it anymore.
