Movie theater pauses: Yay or nay?

God, a movie without an intermission is just brutal

It really depends on which movie we're talking about. If it’s something like Titanic, taking a break won't ruin the experience for me. But if I’m watching something intense, maybe something like a high-stakes thriller, I probably wouldn't want to miss a thing. I guess I'd just try to take care of business early and skip the beer before the film starts 😬.

Against because I don't even pause when I'm watching a movie at home, so I don't see why I'd need an intermission at the theater. That would honestly just annoy me.🥳

Hmmmm. Low voter turnout. You can't exactly force that kind of engagement on anyone.

Maybe it’ll change when the next massive blockbuster comes out with those long intermissions, and someone gets just as worked up as I am... 😉

Even if the numbers were higher, I doubt authoritative agencies would even blink..

Movie theater intermissions are nothing short of a crime driven by the lowest possible motives. But since film distributors are mostly just greedy opportunists, we shouldn't be surprised that they'll push these breaks through at any cost.

Nah, he’s the type who watches garbage movies because they represent the absolute peak of his cultural growth. It’s people like him that drive the industry to churn out even more trash every single year, and for some bizarre reason, audiences never seem to run out of interest in it. 🙂

Of course not. I have no idea if they do this in other countries—pausing a movie mid-stream—but here, they’re already forcing breaks on anything over 135 minutes. Give it a year and they'll probably start doing it for anything over two hours...

Ugh... honestly, I just can't even... It’s too much, really... Those constant commercials and those endless breaks just absolutely kill my vibe... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr 😠

I’m genuinely curious—will there be an intermission during Predators? Word is they implement breaks for any movie running over 130 minutes, and according to IMDb, Predators clocks in at 138.

What kind of freaking blacked-out pause is that? Honestly, I’d go absolutely insane if they cut a movie right in the middle just to tell everyone to take a break! Thank god I haven't had to deal with that kind of nonsense yet, and besides, I don't even hit the local cinema all that often anyway. Right now, I'm already looking ahead to when Predators hits the big screen in maybe three or four months—that's when I'll be heading out to catch it.

Intermissions are nothing more than a scam cooked up by theater chains to trick people into blowing extra cash on overpriced sodas and popcorn. When I drop $12 or more on a ticket, I expect to actually watch the movie without interruptions.

My view is pretty simple: if you commit to sitting down for a movie that runs three and a half hours, you ought to see it through. Unless, of course, the film is absolute garbage—in which case, you're free to walk out for good.
