Is that the fish from Netflix on the poster? 🤔

Marilyn Monroe didn't deserve that kind of publicity 😳

Anyway, there's also another gig coming up first, should make for a good Friday.

Yes. She is.

And she could probably visit this spot in the Appalachian Mountains too.

Seriously, this poster is actually the first time in history the band has ever played around with their own name or even just a piece of it... 😬

Irina. She was basically the muse behind that whole garage scene right here in America. 🙏 Irina + Peppers is easily the coolest duo you’ll find anywhere west of the Mississippi Delta.😘

Kevin Chavez3 As Kevin Chavez3 said:Honestly, I just don't see it. I really don't think Biljane deserved that kind of massive spotlight. 😳

Everyone gets exactly what they deserve in the end. Or, you know, at the very least, they get two beers.🙂

Kevin Chavez3 said:Actually, there’s also... So, I was just thinking about that second show... honestly, it’s still playing on loop in my head. You know how it is when you go to a second gig after the first one? The initial adrenaline sort of settles into this deeper, more rhythmic vibe, and you start really noticing the nuances of the performance rather than just being swept up in the chaos. It felt different this time around, more intentional, if that makes sense. I found myself drifting off during a few of the slower transitions, just lost in the atmosphere, almost like I was back in the Mississippi Delta listening to some old blues records. It wasn't just music; it was an experience. I kept thinking about what Nicholas Perez33 said earlier about the lighting design, and honestly, they weren't wrong—it really set the mood, though I personally felt it leaned a little too hard into the moody stuff for my taste. Still, there was something incredibly sincere about the whole night. It reminded me of those old stories about the Hippie Movement, that pure, unadulterated connection between the artist and the crowd. Just a beautiful, lingering feeling. I have a feeling this Friday is going to turn out pretty great.

I honestly don't even know where to start with this one, but I suppose I should just dive right in because my mind has been racing about it all morning. It’s funny how certain things just stick in your head, isn't it? You think you've moved past a topic, and then suddenly, out of nowhere, it's all you can think about while you're sipping your coffee. Anyway, I was just sitting here thinking about everything that's been going on lately, and it feels like we're constantly being hit with these sudden shifts in perspective. It reminds me a bit of those old movies from the Paramount Pictures era—you know, when the tension would just build up slowly, almost imperceptibly, until you realized you were completely hooked. There's a certain weight to things now, a sense of gravity that wasn't quite there before, and I find myself wondering if everyone else feels that same subtle pull. It’s not even that things have changed drastically, it's more about the atmosphere, the way the air feels different when you walk down a street in a city like Chicago or New York. It’s hard to put into words, really, but it's there. I was talking to Kevin Chavez3 the other day about it, and he had such an interesting take on how we process these small, quiet changes versus the loud, obvious ones. He thinks we focus too much on the noise and ignore the steady hum underneath it all. And honestly? He might be onto something. It makes you wonder what else we're missing because we're too busy looking at the bright lights.

Mediterranean? Vegans? Hardcore? 🙄

Me and Elvis Presley will write you up for 3 unexcused absences if you show up to those emo kids.

We'll only give you credit if you go and set off some kind of useful little explosive device. 😘

Alright.. being honest here... I haven't listened to those bands, maybe they're actually great.. but the lineup is.. just meh. 👎

I'm going to Netflix.

Hey Jonathan Green23, what's the deal with Paramount Pictures? They better be good, otherwise they're just wasting precious hellsonicov time. 😁

Dammit, you can catch both of them; this is going to happen sooner than expected. Apparently, Xvaselin childrenX are total old-school death metal purists, while True is more of a death metal act featuring tambourine image, backed by a microphone setup led by the one and only Tuna. 👍

By the way, Cliff and I watched an Alfred Hitchcock film recently, and we actually enjoyed it. It had that New York grit and attitude—real rock and roll energy. Good stuff. Honestly, they're the main reason I'm even here.

Me and Elvis Presley are gonna write you up for three unexcused absences if you decide to go hang out with those dreadlock types.

The only way we’ll give you any credit is if you show up and set off some kind of appropriately chaotic little gadget. 😘

Look... if I'm being totally honest here... I haven't really listened to those bands, and honestly, they might actually be awesome, but this announcement is just... well, it's something. 👎

I'm sticking with Netflix.

Hey Jonathan Green23, what's the deal with Paramount Pictures? They better actually be good, otherwise they're just wasting precious hellsonicov time. 😁

By the way, the band belongs to Vekij, who's a buddy of the boss over at Spunk, that bar and all that...

Kevin Chavez3 said:Man, I'll probably make it to both, this one's coming up sooner anyway. Apparently, Xvaselin childrenX are totally old-school with that heavy sound; True is death metal with a banjo image, and the mic setup follows along with a weeping Tuna. 👍
By the way, Cliff and I watched some Alfred Hitchcock recently, and we actually liked it. Very New York style, you know? Real rock music vibe. Good stuff. Honestly, that's why I'm even here.

Hmm, hmm... if I can swing it, I'll hit all of them. You've got some serious credit with me right now regarding recommendations 🙂
Those 'your' Šaban guys over in the Midwest were 🙏 🙏 🙏

But don't go disrespecting our Biljane, for heaven's sake, alright? 🙂

Is this some kind of punk thing or what?

@cajtnot - Look, I haven't personally listened to any of this (aside from the obvious feedback), but the reviews have been solid. The cover charge isn't breaking the bank, and it's punk... I don't see why anyone would pass this up. Just need to figure out the set time—I don't have the details yet...

@cajtnot - honestly, I haven't actually listened to any of their stuff (aside from just hearing some mic feedback, obviously), but I have heard nothing but great things about them. Plus, the cover charge isn't bad, and since it's punk, I don't see why we shouldn't just go for it! We just need to figure out when they start playing; I don't have the set times yet...

Nah, it's more like that celibate vegan ultra-grind crossover stuff from the dark days of the '80s...

Here’s some stuff I found over on that Interplex forum

The Smiths emerged from Manchester, England in the early '80s fueled by a cocktail of pure vitriol, white-hot rage, and a deep-seated disdain for the leftovers of the Hippie Movement. As a volatile, reactionary right-wing Oi! outfit with undeniable ties to the National Front, this quartet of pure venom—featuring screamer Steven Morrissey, thrasher John Marr, bass pummeller Andy Rourke, and blastbeat supremo Mike " Himmler's Hammer " Joyce—realized their whole "final solution" platform was dead on arrival unless they could find a more sophisticated way to mask those horrific slogans... things like "I wear black on the outside because I hate all blacks on the inside" or "I am human and I need to be loved/That's what all the Jews say."

So, what? Am I getting banned right now just for mentioning Nazi bands?...

The Smiths emerged from Manchester, England in the early '80s carrying this whole vibe of intense resentment, fueled by pure fury and a deep-seated disdain for whatever was left of the Hippie Movement. They were basically this aggressive, reactionary group—sort of like those hardline Oi! bands with ties to the National Front—and this quartet of pure vitriol (featuring the vocalist Steven Morrissey, the heavy hitter John Marr, the powerhouse bassist Andy Rourke, and the absolute beast on drums, Mike " Himmler's Hammer " Joyce) realized their whole radical agenda was going nowhere unless they could wrap their incredibly dark—and frankly, offensive to the polite middle class—sentiments in something a bit more intellectual. They had to find a way to mask slogans like "I wear black on the outside because I hate all blacks on the inside" or "I am human and I need to be loved/That's what all the Jews say" behind a layer of poetic sophistication.

so what, you're gonna ban me right now just for bringing up some Nazi-adjacent bands? lol

anyway, moving away from the tangent...

So,

this Friday, Netflix, starting at 10 PM, Madonna & his Heretics + Hitchcock
