Frank Howard3?
Cool nickname. What's the best part... I guess it isn't me.. no shit 🙂
I think I finally figured out who that could be..
The Real Things—they started out as kids in their early twenties... from LA and Sézane... I first saw them a year ago when they were just a trio (without a bassist). Back then, they actually sounded like The Mighty Caesars... I know you won't believe me, but it's true. This Saturday was something else entirely. They got high... or rather, they got stoned... No wonder Bill said they sound better now. To me, they sound worse. Like a slowed-down version of Devil Dogs... and personally, I don't find that tense anymore. I’d love to see them on a small stage. 🤔
Hamburg—not my cup of tea... those Turbonegro wannabes from the Midwest... they aren't even close to being "dangerous," and they aren't gay either... nothing real about them... so to me, they felt more like those "look at me, I'm a rebel" types. Whatever. I only added them because they're a decent crew for
a little trouble... just so it doesn't look like I'm being a jerk personally. ☕
Erotic Bill and his Heretics—they learned their lesson. Everyone did. 👍
Mark talked some crap in the van later, but nobody took him seriously 🙄
The Nomads—Garbage. G-a-r-b-a-g-e. Hellsonic and I are honestly disappointed. It's a good thing we didn't buy their latest records before hearing them live. Cliché and routine. They remind me most of Rockset. Which ***** is that 80s garage band? Why do they even play? If The Cynics are trash, this is... this is... ugh. 🙂
The Meteors—It's a shame everything felt watered down and limp by the end... mostly referring to the crowd... It was like even they felt it.. They played a standard set... but with much less heart than last time in Denver. A good experience, regardless... it always leaves me feeling a bit fired up. Not many bands can "move" you.... even if it's in that direction 🙂
Picture 1—A fight broke out during The Meteors' set at the start... some guy rushed the security guards and started hitting them, but they handled him pretty well... he lost his cool and started making threats, like... "what's wrong with you guys, you can't just be that violent"... and there they were, five or six of them, holding him down... hitting him with hands and feet... it looked like those scenes on Discovery where a pack of hyenas tears apart some leftovers. The aftermath? The only person the bouncers kicked out was... you guessed it, that guy... 🤣
Picture 2—Your favorite announcer around 2 AM, discreetly/modestly throwing a flashbulb in the corner of the hall... right by the foosball table. A unique experience.
Picture 3—Matthew from Rochester stumbling around the hall like a zombie, yelling: ''Yeah, rock n' roll! '' The guy looks rejuvenated.. ever since he became a daddy, he's changed 🙏
Picture 4- Mark's face during Hamburg. I have no words. 😵
Picture 5- Drunk, dead, and exhausted... most of our van crew decided to head out before the last band... Magnetix.. whom Hellsonic and I saw in New York City.. shame we missed them... I really regret it now. They're alright.. If anyone stayed, let us know how they were..
How was it at Cool n during that time?
