Megan Peterson87 said:Basically, I’m thinking about hitting up this concert this weekend—but I’ve also got vacation plans in the works—so I’m wondering if they’re actually any good. What kind of sound do they have, and is it really worth blowing an entire night on them? Thanks!👍

Look, 🙂 I get the dilemma—🙂 choosing between a night out and a getaway is always a tough call—🙂 but let’s be real:

I'm only mentioning them because everyone else in this thread already did... so in my book, they're basically in the same boat.

So, Earth, Wind & Fire and Manu Chao are both just trash to you. If that's the case, Megan Rodriguez44, why even bother posting here? Megan Peterson87 was asking for our take on Earth, Wind & Fire. If you can't tell the difference between them and Manu Chao, I don't know why you're still typing... just padding your stats or something? wtf...

Megan Peterson87 asked for our takes on what Earth, Wind & Fire is actually like. If you can't tell the difference between them and Manu Chao, I don't know why you're still posting here. Is it just to pad your numbers or what?!

Just answering Megan Peterson87 and you to be a little provocative... ☕
They're all the exact same garbage! 😁

They’re actually pretty chill.

Taking that as some kind of insult or a personal jab... 🙂 🙂

They aren't bad, it's just that the singer seems constantly stoned. You can never tell if he's performing some kind of tribal dance or if he's just completely out of it.
They have plenty of hits; you must have heard at least five or six of them by now. Go to one of their shows—if nothing else, you can at least laugh at how the singer moves around on stage.

Earth, Wind & Fire is easily one of my absolute favorite bands, but I’m skipping this concert since my planning was a total mess. Honestly though, if you go, you're going to have a blast—their sound is just so upbeat, fast, funky, groovy, and, well, just pure vibes!
I’m pretty sure even my mom is a fan of Earth, Wind & Fire. She’s 55, so I honestly don't get how anyone could not know who they are.
Hello?
Seriously, what are you even listening to?
If you're strictly a country radio type of person, please skip this show, because you're probably going to be bored out of your mind...

So, this was the vibe back in NYC.

Enough spamming. Back to the point; so, did you guys grab tickets yet?
BTW. What do we think of Dynamite? Personally, I’m loving it. Still feel like "traveling..." hits different, but this one's actually pretty solid...

Thank god, I don't have to go... I really hope you guys who are actually heading out have an absolute blast. Make sure you listen to that acid-jazz-funky band... they seriously look like they know how to throw a party.👍

How on earth did you manage to talk yourself into this? 😲 🙏

Yeah, it’s gonna be a total riot, probably wilder than one of Prosper's massive galas! 😉

Earth, Wind & Fire just aren't what they used to be.

Especially since JK decided to kick out the entire band—thinking he's some kind of intergalactic superstar or something—but honestly? He’s just acting like a total diva. Anyway, getting off track there.

Long story short, the new album that dropped this past Monday is called Dynamite, and it sounds like something you've already heard a thousand times before.

I can almost hear JK saying, "Why change perfection?"

And my response to that would be: well, man, once you've swapped out everything that actually made the music work, you don't have anything left to improve! Your ego has grown way too big for your own good, and at this point, you've run out of band members to fire...

If you really want my two cents, I think they should try playing something more like a funk revival—at least that's the vibe they used to have.

So, here's the big question: is this even the same band anymore?

Look, everyone changes. It just comes down to whether you dig the new vibe or not. That's really all there is to it. If you look at the discography, those first two albums are worlds apart from the rest. Even by the third one, "Cosmic Girl" kind of hints at where they're heading... more of a funky dance thing. So it wasn't like Earth, Wind & Fire suddenly turned into something else starting with Funk Odyssey, they just pivoted. Totally different topic, but Alanis Morissette did the exact same thing if you compare her debut to anything else she's put out.

hmm, looks like I might actually end up going to this concert after all... I mean, the band is pretty solid, right? Is anyone else planning on showing up? Is this the kind of music where people actually get up and dance, or am I just gonna be standing there? And more importantly—should I go ahead and grab some drinks first?👍

God, Megan Peterson87, your questions are killing me... 🤣

Back in 2002, the turnout was insane; don't expect that this year since the marketing was a total disaster.
Obviously it's danceable, especially once the crowd takes over... you'll see.
Drink, smoke, whatever—which is probably what JK will be doing anyway...😉

Oh, absolutely. Go hard.
And maybe stock up on some antidepressants while you're at it—though personally, I’d say a lobotomy performed via an ice cream cone through the nostril is the only reliable way to stay sane. 🤔

Sorry, I just have to say this because you clearly don't realize how hilarious you're being 😉

Anyway—honestly, whatever kind of music you're into, it doesn't even matter... you're gonna have an absolute blast because this is easily the concert of the season... (well, maybe excluding 🙄 )

Btw—if you ever find yourself "forced" to go see Manu Chao, don't listen to them... 🙂
I mean, they're a total genius and one of the best live acts out there... I seriously can't wait until they roll into NYC...
