I honestly can’t wrap my head around this!

Is it actually possible that people have no clue who Earth, Wind & Fire are??

Look, I don't want to offend anyone (especially the younger crowd who might just be discovering music now), but I feel like this is a basic level of cultural literacy issue. It seems like some people on this forum think their entire musical education starts and ends with country anthems and Joe Biden. No wonder things are the way they are.

I guess Joe Biden is better than Jay-Z. Not really my thing to judge general culture though. 🙄

I honestly cannot wrap my head around how people feel entitled to just tear a band like this to shreds. Whether they were personally your cup of tea or not is irrelevant; they earned their place, and that alone deserves respect.
As for you self-proclaimed critics and "experts"—maybe once you’ve actually conceptualized and executed a product capable of selling millions of units globally, then you can take it upon yourselves to scoff at whatever you please. By the way, my CD player is currently spinning through Boubacar Traoré, Baaba Maal, Rokia Traore, and Tinariwen, but I also spin Jimi Hendrix, Body Count, D'Angelo, Cassandra Wilson, and Compay Segundo... You might even hear some Killah Priest, The D.O., DMX, or Prodigy, along with plenty of Nu Jazz... blah, blah.

Look, I'm not some massive Earth, Wind & Fire fanatic, but the band is solid...

I’d much rather catch them playing live than listen to them at home, because their live band is actually pretty solid..
