The_Equilibrist said:Well, Microsoft was actually quite generous—back at my university, they used to hand out Windows and some of their other software to students for free. I suppose they’re trying to secure their future, or something like that. Anyway, it's an original copy.

Around here, people tend to share (or rather, "rent out") XP. Since the idea of cramming that junk onto my own machine never even crossed my mind, I don't have an original version—just some "refurbished" build of 2000....

Just curious, that's all!

Yeah, I'm using an original Traxdat CD😁 😁

I’m not going to admit I’m using a knockoff—who knows who’s actually lurking here anyway! 😁

Say whatever you want and vote however you feel, but if you ask me, the real ratio is 90:10 in favor of the pirates.

I'm with you. At my place, I've got one Windows 98 SE, two Windows Server 2003 Standard editions, one Windows 2000 Advanced Server, and two Windows XP installs.

That's six unlicensed copies of Windows right there.😬

The media is genuine, the license is legitimate, and yet everything I own is considered illegal—simply because it was acquired from the government😉

joz@ has an original copy of this too 😁

The version I was using turned out to be pretty unreliable, so I just swapped it back for the original yesterday. 👍

Clearly, some people think if they grab an original Windows license from someone else and just clone it, suddenly it belongs to them too.

I’ve got an original Windows XP Home setup running on one machine...😳 😲
On another one, I'm using Windows XP Pro—you know, that "quarterly update" version everyone seems to have lying around😬...

And naturally, I've still got copies of Windows 2000 and Windows 98 tucked away too...😁

I’ve got 95, 98SE, 2000 Pro, and XP Pro... and yeah, obviously everything is backed up 🙂
