There’s nothing quite like letting a heavy stream of hot water pour over a tired head—just curling up in the corner of the tub and letting the warmth melt all the tension away. It’s my favorite way to unwind:

So, how healthy is it actually to take long, hot showers?

Exactly. That’s what I’m getting at... I’m also constantly choking on the steam whenever I take a shower.😁

Isn't that just wild!😁

Sometimes in the winter, I’ll find myself cranking up the heat in the shower way more than I should. By the time I actually turn it off, dry off, and go back to rinse the soap, I’ll run my hands under that same water... and that's usually when it hits me how insanely hot it actually was.

But honestly, since I haven't had any issues so far, I guess it's probably fine.

That said, since I haven't run into any health issues yet, I’d say it isn't really a problem.

Well, it hasn't caused me any trouble either.
As you know, things like arthritis don't usually show up until they've been lurking in the background for years—and then, bam! They hit you all at once.
But hey, hopefully we won't have to worry about that, even if we are essentially roasting ourselves like coffee beans...😁

I mean, I guess for us guys, this isn't exactly healthy... specifically when you consider what it might do to our kids later on.

Oh, come on, Kyle Nelson2, don't be so dramatic. A little hot water isn't going to do anything to your—or our—equipment.😬>

hint:just stop sitting there with your laptop resting directly on your lap for six hours straight every single day, and you won't have any issues.😉>

I can easily sit under a waterfall for twenty minutes straight...
As long as I don't start obsessing over the bill and before the heat starts feeling a bit too suffocating 😁

Honestly, I wish every pool and ocean out there was a constant 104°F 😬

That is, until the steam starts making me feel lightheaded—or until the heat becomes a bit too much to handle. 😁

Honestly, I wish every pool and ocean out there was a steady 104°F. 😬

👍

There is something uniquely soothing about that hot water—you have this biting chill waiting outside, but inside your little bathroom sanctuary, it’s pure bliss, almost like the heat is melting your skin into soft butter...

Kind of like listening to Tina Turner's "Fog."😁

I mean, I'm not sure if it's actually harmful, but it basically strips the skin of its natural oils. It's definitely not great for women—especially when it comes to maintaining skin beauty—and using scalding hot water on the chest area is just a bad idea...

hmm
I’m honestly not so sure about this... It used to work wonders for me in the past, but lately, I just can't handle it anymore. I can't even stand to be in the shower for very long because I start feeling this tightness in my chest, like I'm struggling to catch my breath, and then this inexplicable sense of anxiety and discomfort just washes over me...
Maybe it's just one of those things that varies from person to person, but for me, it feels like it’s doing more harm than good these days...😕

I’m not so sure about that. It used to be fine for me—really, I didn't think twice about it—but lately, I just can't stomach it. I can barely even take a long shower without feeling this tightness in my chest, like I'm struggling to catch my breath. There's this weird sense of anxiety and general discomfort that just hits out of nowhere...

You should try cutting back on the smoking, dear. ☕

A little explanation wouldn't hurt here.
Personally, I think I look fantastic when I catch my reflection in the mirror—flushed and glowing—after a nice, hot soak.🙂

Well, look, you aren't going to end up completely red-faced and brain-dead... or will you? Because from where I'm sitting, that doesn't seem particularly healthy at all.

Is taking hot showers actually healthy?

Look, I’m a fan of the hot shower life too. 🙂 Why wouldn't it be "healthy"? Or maybe I should rephrase—what's the actual downside to using hot water? (As long as we're talking normal temperatures, obviously, not enough to give yourself second-degree burns or anything crazy.)

Look, it’s definitely not great for your veins—especially if you’re dealing with varicose veins like I am... 😉

I’m a huge fan of scalding hot water myself; I basically turn my bathroom into a sauna every time I bathe. But about a year ago, I decided to run a little experiment after my boyfriend talked me into it. I started showering with lukewarm—well, actually, pretty cold—water. Honestly, the results were nothing short of a miracle!!! My skin felt incredibly tight, and my chest looked better, too—maybe they actually lifted or changed shape, I can't say for sure, but they looked great!
At first, stepping into that shower was a total nightmare that required some serious mental prep just to face the stall... but eventually, I got used to it!
Besides, people claim that colder showers are way better for your circulation... and obviously, for your skin!

Look, that all sounds great, but men generally aren't fans of cold water.😁 Don't even get me started.😁 😁

I remember back in middle school, my history teacher used to go on these long rants about the benefits of morning showers in cold water!😲 😲 😲
I'm clearly not quite that brave, though.

By the way, I don't think cold water is great for hair; it seems to make it feel stiff, almost like plastic. In warm water, it feels happy and bouncy.👍

And you probably don't handle heat very well now, given how you've conditioned your body to prefer the cold.
In my opinion, it's much better to be able to withstand the heat rather than the cold—after all, nobody wants to be sweating like a pig.😁 No offense intended, of course.
