I hope I’m posting this in the right spotπŸ™‚

So, I was wondering what kind of workouts are actually best for someone dealing with acid reflux? Like, should I go for general fitness classes or maybe something like aerobics?

Also, does anyone have recommendations for decent gyms in Washington, D.C.? It would be ideal if they were on the west side, maybe somewhere around Brooklyn or similar. If you happen to know anything about the rough pricing, that would be even better.
I just really don't want anywhere that's super overcrowded. I tried working out at home, but I think I need more variety and honestly, way more discipline than I currently have. I keep second-guessing whether I should sign up for an aerobics class or a spin session because, I don't know, it feels pretty awkward working out alongside a bunch of total strangers, but I guess I eventually have to get over that hump.

Any and all advice or suggestions are welcome!

If we’re going to start putting weight on ourselves, we might as well take things slow.
We’re losing weight steadilyβ€”about a pound or a pound and a half a week.

If the patient is younger, they can start with slow walking and then gradually increase their pace.
Jog or run whenever you feel like it.

I’m 46, and I managed to drop 15 pounds just by walking. That was it.
3.1 miles Heading home from work. 3.1 miles Went for a jog afterward.
I went for a run every single day for about four to six months. 9.3 miles Once a week, maybe half the time.
Marathons... and here I am, someone who's already dealt with a failed surgery.
Back pain.

Don't bother with all those diet pills or fad supplements. Just go for a walk instead.
Jogging. It’s a solid option if you're looking to get moving, but...
I’ll say it again: walking is the simplest thing there is, and every doctor recommends it.
Regarding older adults: my wife is 67 and walks about three miles every day.3.1 miles ,a
She’s dealing with spinal degeneration and some pretty intense pain... even a few weeks back.
The neurologist said they're doing everything they can.

Good luck!
