I’m trying to figure out if my sensors are actually giving me the truth here. At idle, my CPU temperature is sitting under 25 degrees Celsius with the fans spinning at 1950 RPM. I actually popped the case open to do a physical check—feeling the components directly—and the CPU heatsink feels cooler than lukewarm water, while the Northbridge heatsink is just barely warm. As for the hard drives, the tops are ice cold, but the undersides feel lukewarm to the touch. My setup currently runs six fans set to 7 volts; two are pulling air in to cool the HDDs, three are exhausting the hot air out the back, and I’ve got one side fan flipped to exhaust so dust won't get sucked in until I can grab some filters. 🙄

I mean, I get it. Everything is running perfectly fine, zero issues, but when I actually want to dig into the details............🙄

123...that whole setup with the fans is seriously impressive. 😁

Man, having a side fan blowing outward is totally pointless if you're just pushing air out.😁

Anyway, if you track down an actual filter that actually works, let me know.👍

Just use the sponge that comes with the motherboard as a filter, provided it isn't too thick. Other than that, I’m running 10 fans total.

Anyway, if you happen to track down a decent filter that actually does its job, let me know.👍

Look, I ended up using a PSU filter and it works like a charm. I even tested it by holding a scrap of paper in front of it—the airflow pulls it right in, so you know the intake is strong. I also flipped the side fan so it’s pulling air inward. I positioned the filter on that side fan, tucked right between the chassis and the front panel, which means the front intake fans aren't sucking any dust inside either.😁

P.S. I'm running ten fans total in my rig.😁

Me? I’ve got 11 🙂

1x CPU
2x Hard drives (front)
3x rear
2x PSU
1x Northbridge
1x side panel

Why don't you try doing the math again? You clearly missed something. 🙂

And where on earth is it on the graphics card?😉 😁

Oh, I totally forgot about the vents on the laptop => 11 vents. And here you were thinking you were the big shot, President.

AL 621

143 Watts IBM at 10% distortion
100 Watts IBM at 1% - // -

The thing is, they're absolute beasts, but honestly, the most important part is just how full and clean the sound is 🙂

The beast. But honestly, the most important thing is that it hits hard and sounds smooth 🙂

Man, where are you even going to crank those? On a patio or a balcony, maybe. Don't tell me you're planning to blast them indoors and expect to keep your windows intact! For me, 30W is plenty, though I'd be happy with something like 17W + 2x6W (like those Creative P380s). One of my gearhead buddies claims his Gigaworks setup pulls 500W from massive half-meter cabinets, yet he barely touches 10% of the total power. If you ask me, that’s just overkill for an indoor space.

I guess I'll just stay in my room and screw around, while out on the balcony I listen to 😬

Man, I actually grabbed one for a build recently too, and it feels like everyone on this board just absolutely tore it apart.😁

NVIDIA nForce... absolutely crushing it...

on 4x AGP... paired with a 2400+ Mobile... it’s behaving ridiculously well

Dead silent... stays cool... and runs every game at max settings without breaking a sweat

running a 6800LE @ default😁 12x 1.5

with 768 MB of RAM... everything just glides

Thinking back to all the headaches with this newer hardware... I have to wonder...

What’s the point of all this "new" tech?... maybe just to give designers something to play with!

It's pretty obvious the older boards were built better...

Anyone else feeling this?

I went through three of them in less than a year, yet this beast😎 is still going strong on ancient AGP... smooth sailing even with a weak CPU

What's the deal with PCI... or whatever the hell they call it now... 3D Mark? Is that really what "progress" looks like?

Maybe you're just having a run of bad luck...

So far, I've only had a single IBM hard drive kick the bucket on me...

Everything else—the motherboard, the monitor, the RAM, the power supply... all that old gear is over five years old and still running fine...

And even this new stuff is holding up perfectly.👍

So, my other 60 GB IBM drive just totally died on me the other day 😁

I guess I got pretty lucky though, since I’d actually picked up a 200 GB Seagate just a week prior and managed to move all my data over in time 🙂
