Honestly, those benchmark numbers don't really matter in the grand scheme of things... they're mostly just for showing off...😁

But hey, if you really want to push it, feel free to crank it up to 2.6GHz even with that basic stock cooler from Intel... though I wouldn't recommend it unless you're feeling brave...😉

I had the radio running at 2.5GHz for a bit, but man, those temps were creeping up past 55°C.
Now I've got them sitting pretty around 40~45°C since I dropped it down to 2.2GHz.

Now it's sitting around 105-113°F at 2.2GHz.

What motherboard and RAM are you running?
Just pop the side panel off and those temps will drop...🙂

Abit FP-IN9 nF650i SLI
2x1Gb DDR2 800MHz Kingmax
The case is an MS Ind. miditower, running one 120mm intake fan and two 80mm exhaust fans,
but honestly, it’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside, so the airflow is pretty lackluster.
I really ought to pick up a more spacious case just to get some decent air moving through the system.

Suckers......
Check out my killer Pij setup... 🙂 The photo is a bit blurry—not entirely sure why! I tucked a second window behind this one just to keep things private since my Memu is acting up like crazy... but I'll get that sorted out soon enough! 😉
By the way, it's running perfectly fine at 4.2 GHz—that Mini Typhoon really gets the job done....😉

This is absolutely wild!!! I’ve gotta know, what kind of voltage are you running, and what’s the actual frequency on those sticks? And please tell me you have the latency numbers too...

If you're looking at getting some Memu, honestly, just stick with Crucial Ballistix! It's the only way to go!

What kind of resale value am I looking at for this one from Kingmax?
Is it really that much of a piece of junk?
Think this Overcklock is decent enough?
(wiredmarlin5—I wish you were here just so I could see that smug look on your face...😁)

You could probably snag those 2 GB Kingmax sticks for about $450— $167 they aren't junk at all, you just have to have a little fun tinkering with them... personally, I’ve managed to hit 800MHz at 2.2V with 3-4-3-8 timings, then bumped it up to 875MHz using 4-4-4-12, and I even pushed them to 1005MHz with 5-5-5-18... honestly, that’s pretty solid performance, and while it might not win any hardcore enthusiast awards, it's more than enough for 99% of users out there 🙂

Man, those results you pulled are absolutely incredible... you really ought to sign up for PCPartPicker and post your records there because you'd easily be sitting at the top of the leaderboard among all the overclockers in the States 🙂

I totally believe you, I think I’d be feeling pretty confident hitting 4.2GHz myself too 😁 😁

Should I go for the record?
I honestly don't get how nobody else is hitting this benchmark yet.
I wasn't even trying that hard!
But man—it’s just a blast working on this rig! 😁
Now, I'm diving straight into overclocking the GPU...😉

The thing is, you really won't find many people running an E6700 these days... 🙂 😲

Just please, do be careful out there so you don't end up frying your hardware! 😁

But there's one thing I'm still scratching my head over... I hit a Blue Screen of Death twice—just my luck—but everything seems to be running smoothly now.😉

I suspect you might have misconfigured those voltage settings, honestly... It could be the frame dimensions or maybe something else entirely... If you’re feeling a bit nervous about messing with the BIOS, just go ahead and wipe the CMOS clean to start fresh 🙂

EDIT:

Or, you know, you could always just sell the processor to someone on eBay and call it a day, which would certainly solve all your headaches once and for all 🙂

Zero answers here....
I guess he just pushed the clock too high, huh? 🙂
Tried running it at 1.6V @ 3700MHz but no luck....

I guess he just hit his absolute ceiling with that clock speed, what a bummer...🙂
I gave it a shot at 1.6V pushing for 3700MHz, but it just wouldn't budge....

😛 😛 HeHe.... 😁 That's a 1:0 score for me!😉

Wait, how are you getting such high temps???
I'm seeing about 35°C using the same CoreTemp software...😕

Since the architecture is actually quite different, mine is rocking 4MB of cache while yours only has 2MB...

I’ve got my Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850@OC pushed to 4GHz, and I just clocked a Super PI run at 12.844 seconds. Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue if that actually qualifies as impressive or if I'm just shouting into the void...

Well, it’s certainly decent, though I have to say that Bryan Wood49 actually managed to pull a much higher score out of his e6700 🙂

I was just thinking that if he were to disable two of those cores, he might be able to push the overclocking even further... but then again, that wouldn't exactly be the most prudent move... especially since this little beauty isn't exactly cheap $2667 🙂
