Anyway, I thought the show in LA was great. My only gripe is they didn't play "The Moon is Down"—they played that for the encore at their first IEEE gig—or "Yasmin". 😢 Did they end up playing "The Moon is Down" tonight here in Chicago?

Not really.
I mean, yeah, they were just hanging out in a van right outside the IEEE building. I spotted them as I was heading home.

Has anyone here actually picked up their "real" debut album? I’m talking about that sold-out CD-R that never saw an official reissue—they just printed 300 vinyl copies with handmade covers right before they hit the road in Europe, half of which they brought over themselves...

I suppose I'm also a bit disappointed it was such a short set... and that I didn't have enough cash on me to pick up a CD or a t-shirt. Oh well, I guess I might get another shot at it in a year or so.🙂 They’ll be back eventually, right?

After the show, we headed outside to grab some air. I think I still held onto this tiny shred of hope that they’d come back out for an encore when we saw them heading back inside. Then, at the entrance, some woman actually stopped the bearded guitarist and demanded to see his ticket. He looked completely lost until my friend explained that he was actually in the band. 😵 😁
Ah, well, I guess it won't be happening anytime soon here in the States. 🙂

Look, I can't say for sure... though I do know Durutti Column released their first record wrapped in sandpaper—just the outer sleeve, obviously—specifically so it would shred every other vinyl in your collection.

Personally, I always go my own way with CDs that aren't originals but mean a lot to me. I keep them in a box and make custom homemade covers. I’ll cut out stuff from magazines, newspapers, travel guides, or world atlases—just gluing, peeling, and sketching until it looks right. In the end, they always look better than the official ones 🙂
