I never really leaned into their discography—to be honest, the music itself was always a bit of a chore to sit through (one could argue they weren't even true musicians to begin with)—but you have to grant respect to one of the original legends of heavy metal 🙏 🙏 🙏

They were truly interesting guys when you read their interviews, which is a far cry from those modern, mama's boy, "so-gothic-mystical" type metal bands we see today 🙂

I spent six damn years managing their website... then life just got too busy and I had to step away...

My name actually ended up on the album cover...

All I can say is, nobody does it better than him. If you want to know what it looks like when someone pours pure emotion into music, look at Blackie...

And regarding that whole Forever Free thing... it’s not about some girl... it’s about his imagination...

Now, as for the real heavy hitters...

Neutron Bomber, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Tormentor, Sleeping in the Fire, The Heretic, The Invisible Boy, The Great Misconceptions of Me, L.O.V.E. machine, Forever Free, Wild Child, Phantoms in the Mirror... if you're into this stuff, most of these tracks are legendary...

But honestly, the absolute peak of their work has to be The Heretic, The Headless Children, and The Great Misconceptions of Me...

Things have shifted over time—you know how it goes.

Maybe slydrifter39 will end up being their opening act now—kind of like how it was with Zeppelin... Is it just me, or is the turnout for this concert looking pretty thin? Probably just some crappy organization, right? 😁 😁 😁

Man, you guys are soft—back when I was your age, we were using our teeth to slaughter goats. Forget all that damn drugs and nonsense. And don't even get me started on Kurt Cobain and that whole "I'm too depressed to live" act... honestly, you guys overrate him way too much. He wasn't some legendary star or whatever. Just... yikes.

Ciao 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 😁 😁 😁

dustyscout53 isn't just writing for Rolling Stone, he’s practically running the damn forum threads now. 😲
It’s obvious he hasn't felt this kind of influence since the Iron Maiden days. 😁

Anyway, the gig is at the Factory, and if I recall, tickets are $57, so it might actually be worth it.

I guess you can tell he hasn't felt this kind of hype since seeing Iron Maiden 😁

I still think it’s 140. 🤔

I’m pretty sure it’s 140.
Who’s opening for them?

All I care about is how the ticket situation plays out... after Metallica, people aren't exactly going to be rushing to buy tickets.😁

So, when is this concert actually happening?

Btw, because you can bet your life I’m going!
Is anyone else down for some pre-show drinks? 😎

From what I've heard, Undercode might be the opening act. Don't quote me on that though... 😁

Wait, who was talking about getting wasted? 😁

dustyscout53 said:Hey everyone, has anyone actually listened to W.A.S.P. lately?! They were the absolute kings of the bedroom! And "I Fuck Like a Beast"—man, I’ve been blasting that track all day long! Then once I finally got my hands on the Headless Children album, it was just pure magic!!!!
Here comes trouble with a capital T! 🙂
And then you have that ballad, Sleeping in the Fire, man, just wow.... 😍 😍 🙂
Then there's the other ballad, the one dedicated to his mother, Forever Free... 🙂 🙂 🙂
There's really nothing left to debate here; W.A.S.P. lives forever!

Honestly, those guys in Metallica were basically just their opening act back then... man, they were booking anyone and everyone during that era....

Ah, W.A.S.P. Trasheraj is a band that stands apart simply because they don't take themselves seriously at all! 😂 I mean, it's the kind of music meant for a rowdy party... you know, just enough to get the whole crowd laughing their heads off!!! And the singer... what a legend... he spins a grinding wheel for sharpening knives and uses a freaking bull horn to grind them on the wheel!!!! 😁 😁

What kind of necrophilia is this, digging up a thread from 2005? 😳 🤣

Are there actually any W.A.S.P. fans left in this corner of the internet, or has everyone already shuffled off to the local nursing home? 🙂 😬

Seriously though, The Last Command is an absolute banger. 🙂

The Final Command album is incredible. 🙂

The Last Command is a great album, and the First LP is also excellent—actually, I might prefer the debut a bit more. But neither can compare to "The Crimson Idol" in my book.

The Great Misconceptions of Me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o61epfw3hF4
From the "The Headless Children" album, which is also top-tier, here is this one:

My bad, just fixed my typo. 😁 Honestly, I have no clue what was going through my head there. 😁

Yeah, I’ve definitely noticed that most people seem to gravitate toward The Crimson Idol. For me though, it’s different; The Last Command was the very first one I ever laid eyes on, and I probably spent way more time spinning that one than all their other albums combined. 🙂

That album feels "deeper," especially compared to the first two, which are a bit rawer (not that being raw is a bad thing). Personally, Wild Child from The Last Command is their best track, but the debut definitely holds its own with Animal, I Wanna Be Somebody, and Love Machine.

Oh, it just hit me... Cries in the Night is a terrible song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnlZ7XK_uVE
