Did anyone catch that classic parody earlier today?

I honestly couldn't stop laughing when Shatner made his appearance (hehehe)

And just when he peered through the periscope, there goes the Enterprise, flying right past him.

The absolute highlight for me was that scene where the guy on the ship is talking to Shatner on the monitor, and then suddenly he just pops the door open and walks right into his room...
That’s where I completely lost it. 😁 🙏

And don't even get me started on when the guy giving advice to Striker starts saying "striker, Striker, STRIKER" while staring intensely at the dude sitting next to the girl, and then—boom—the guy just goes for her. 😈 😁

...for both the first and second movies, I can only say:🙂 🙂 :claps: :claps: 😵

This series is an absolute classic to me... I still lose it thinking about that Lloyd Bridges bit where he yells "Striker!" just as some guy pulls a woman close... I was cracking up.

Or when they say "we have to blow the computer" and the machine basically breaks into a massive grin...

Unbeatable.

I only sat through the first part, and honestly? I wasn't feeling it. The plot felt way too tangled up in itself. Don't like it.

The part where the dude is shaving in the bathroom is solid—pretty much looks exactly like me.😁
Great movie, honestly. Total bummer I didn't record it.

There are different types of comedy out there, and this is just that old-school, classic style. (The movie came out in '82, can't remember when the first one dropped)
It's just a mindless flick meant for chilling out, nothing more.🙂

Both of these movies are absolute madness. The first one is wild because it’s just inherently crazy, and the second one takes that exact same energy but cranks it up by adding William Shatner to the mix. It's actually one of those rare Hollywood gems that avoids getting overly sappy or dragging through pointless filler, though I will admit the second film 😢 drags just a tiny bit. But man, seeing how William parodies his own persona... it’s pure, unadulterated chaos squared! And then that teaser for the third installment drops... "That's exactly what people expect from us," delivered with that classic James T. Kirk flair. Also, that bit where the screen turns out to be a door? Honestly, I had such a blast watching this that I feel like I have to say it all over again.

Right at the end of the movie, after all the credits finish rolling, there’s this little teaser that says: COMING SOON - AIRPLANE III (or something along those lines) 😁

I almost took out a wall trying to follow William Shatner out of the theater because I thought the exit was just a giant monitor... 🙏

For me, the peak was in the first movie when the flight attendant starts searching the cabin
for a doctor, and some old lady pipes up like, "Oh, excuse me," but let's be real,
the man sitting right there is clearly the physician—and he’s got Leslie Nielsen sitting next to her with
a stethoscope around his neck!

It’s just like when Leslie Nielsen suddenly bursts into the cockpit and tells the pilot:
Leslie Nielsen: "They're all going to die soon"
Pilot: "But, surely, there must be something you can do..."
Leslie Nielsen: "N/A. And don't call me Shirley"

Even this cross-examination wasn't half bad...

Pilot: Striker was our squadron leader. He flew us in incredibly low. But he just couldn't manage it.
Prosecutor: Buddy couldn't handle it? Was Buddy part of your crew?
Pilot: Right. Buddy was the bombardier. But it was Striker who lost his nerve, and he completely fell apart.
Prosecutor: *Andy* fell apart?
Pilot: No. Andy was the navigator. He held it together. Buddy was the one who fell apart. It was horrific watching him lose it.
Prosecutor: *Howie* lost it?
Pilot: Oh, heavens no. Howie was steady as a rock, easily the best tailgunner in the unit. It was Buddy who cracked.
Prosecutor: And he bailed out?
Pilot: No. Andy stood his ground. Buddy bailed. Honestly, it’s a miracle he even survived.
Prosecutor : Then Howie survived?
WE lost Howie The next day
Prosecutor : Over Macho Granda
Pilot: No. I'll ever get over Macho Granda.

This definitely belongs in the "Movies That Made You Laugh" or "Movies You’ve Rewatched a Thousand Times" category...
I have to hand it to Shatner—he really learned how to laugh at himself after his time on Star Trek, and honestly, you've gotta respect that.
Then you have the brothers Zuckerberg and Abraham, who basically changed the game with Delta Air Lines and the incredible Robert Hayes... who basically turned into a full-blown comedian after that film.
Both of them are absolute classics.😎
Though, if I'm being honest, I think the first one holds up a bit better.
