Ugh... saw the trailer, did some digging online to see what the deal was, and honestly, I've already kind of forgotten. 🙂Which week are we talking about again?

From what I’ve been reading, this movie feels like a total rip-off of 'Day of the Triffids.' Just swaps out those killer plants for zombies instead.🙂 Not that it's a bad thing—that book is top-tier trash. Seriously. Anyway, hope it doesn't suck too much...

I caught the trailer while I was heading out to see TTT. At first glance, I actually thought it might be some new "Resident Evil" installment.

To me, though, it just looks like some cheap-thrill flick made for middle schoolers or maybe just something to kill time when there isn't anything better on.

Honestly, it's probably better to just wait until it hits streaming or Blu-ray.

Anyone catch this yet? What are we thinking? Personally, I found the movie to be perfectly fine if you just wanted to kill two hours at the theater—nothing more, nothing less. My only gripe is that I would have definitely tweaked the ending a bit... haha.

The core concept? Yeah, I think it’s actually pretty solid... but it feels a bit weird how everyone just stays so chill through the entire ordeal. I mean, wouldn't it be more realistic if someone just totally lost their mind amidst all that chaos? Plus, the ending felt a little too much like a polished Hollywood commercial or something. Smells a bit fake to me.

I mean, besides the lead actress, there are basically only two Black characters in the whole thing. One is just some guy getting picked on by everyone, and the other is literally in chains!!😲

Honestly, it's hard to even say what you should expect because people's reactions are all over the place, but was it one of the most terrifying horror movies I've ever laid eyes on, or was it just a total snooze fest for everyone else?

I didn't really care for the movie.
The whole thing just felt a bit too cliché for my taste.
Someone above mentioned that the themes felt pretty similar to Windham's Dan Trifid.

Wait, did Godspeed You! Black Emperor actually handle the soundtrack? Some folks in the thread were claiming they did (and giving them props), but I’ve been digging and honestly can't find a single link between the band and the movie.

Gybe basically just "borrowed" one track, supposedly from that f#a#oo album (the only one I haven't checked out yet)...

I finally sat down to watch it today... honestly, though... I read John Wyndham's work and a whole mountain of similar sci-fi disaster novels ages ago, so the film felt a bit tedious to me.

The only scene that actually gave me even a slight chill was when those rats were fleeing.

This movie was a tedious, exhausting, and painfully slow disaster.

The lack of logic is staggering. 🤮 For instance, how is it possible that those idiots left behind in New York City couldn't find a single firearm anywhere? Instead, they're stuck fighting off the infected with nothing but baseball bats and machetes. 😕

I honestly can't be bothered to waste any more energy on such nonsense.

The concept itself is solid, but the execution is just terrible.

Basically, the movie is a mashup of John Wyndham's Day of the Triffids and Richard Matheson's I Am Legend.
But honestly—the execution was just a total disaster.

Honestly, though, I still think I Am Legend is the superior story, even if "28 ..." is clearly trying to ride its coattails.

I’ve also got another somewhat trivial gripe regarding the technical execution here: the corpses in "28 ..." look totally unrealistic—I mean, they’re supposedly decomposing after just a couple of weeks? It doesn't hold up. If you want to see how it's actually done, just compare them to the woman's body in Mulholland Drive—now *that* was genuinely gruesome!
