Out of all the theaters, the one in downtown Washington, D.C. is hands down the absolute worst. I’ve spent years avoiding it, though lately, I suppose I’ve been forced to cave under different circumstances. It feels like the most provincial little cinema in the city, and the audience always seems to laugh at all the wrong moments.
I wouldn't say that theater is the worst one out there—it's not even close—but the crowd is definitely unhinged. In my entire life, I have never been anywhere else where people were literally clapping, but there, it happens almost every five minutes, as if I were sitting in some cursed theater troupe performance!
I'd say the local AMC is actually the worst, mostly because it's such a small, pathetic venue with terrible sound and uncomfortable seating. But of course, I always end up finishing my night there because it's statistically impossible for them to sell out, which I guess speaks for itself.😉
