Well, honestly—I've grown used to this rollercoaster over the thirty years I've been following McLaren. They won't be a total disaster this year either; they'll likely snatch at least one race victory even with this bucket of bolts we're seeing.
It seems to me their real focus right now is the MP4-12C—between the Loeb project, GT3 series, and endurance racing... they seem preoccupied.

By the way, regarding that MP4-12C... man, what a sound. It reminds me of the old Formula cars from back in the day. 🙏

Let's take a moment to talk about these Pirelli tires, which honestly feel like they were made out of chocolate.

"The life of the [soft] tyre, it's the worst I've ever experienced with bits flying off all over the place," Lewis Hamilton said.

"The soft is hardcore. It doesn't feel like the right tyre for this circuit. I did a couple of laps and the tyres just disintegrated."

But Pirelli motorsport chief Paul Hembery said the soft tyre was doing exactly what it was supposed to.

"If the medium did the same then I'd be concerned, but it doesn't," he said.

"It's a qualifying tyre. It'll be a bit like Melbourne I guess where the top teams are going to be forced to qualify on the softer tyre because it's such a performance advantage and within the first 10 laps they are going to have to pit.

Otherwise, this whole competition is just a tragicomedy.
These tires are absolutely ruining everything.

And the saddest part? After the race, everyone will be raving about how exciting it was, all those "incredible overtakes" and whatnot.
When in reality, the situation is more absurd than anything else.

We basically have two choices: either we settle for manufactured overtakes or we stick to natural racing via pit strategy.
In the first scenario, you get overtakes happening right on the track, regardless of how forced they feel.
In the second, any movement in position happens strictly through the pits—and even then, only if there's an opportunity for an extra pit stop.
Look, if the people calling the shots in F1 can't come up with anything that actually allows for genuine, organic
racing, then I'd honestly rather have something artificial than nothing at all.

I’d much rather sit through a grueling 20-lap battle with one legendary overtake than watch a bunch of artificial overtaking nonsense.

There’s zero substance to it today. All you're getting is some basic graphics showing KERS and DRS, or if you're feeling nostalgic, a comparison between the old and new tires. That’s it. Adios.👋
Honestly, the whole thing is a joke. When you actually watch a race now, the only things that seem to matter are how many DRS zones they've slapped on the track and which car can pull off one fewer pit stop than everyone else. That's basically it.

A Formula 1 series where Lewis Hamilton’s tires give up on him before he even finishes his first flying lap is absolute garbage.
Pirelli is a bigger disaster for this sport than Schumacher's dominance or a rotting train car—and that's easily ten times worse.🙄
