I mean, since when does an equal driver have to ask permission to pass his teammate?🤣

My take is that it's all baked into Lewis Hamilton's contract—he likely demanded to be the undisputed number one in the team.
It makes sense. He’s moving to what's considered the "weaker" outfit, so he probably wouldn't want to deal with any ego battles with Nico Rosberg on the track.

Lewis Hamilton actually went out of his way to demand that he wouldn't receive any preferential treatment—something none of the team members had even bothered to bring up during the negotiations.

I don't know about all this... personally, I feel like Lewis Hamilton is just incredibly slick. He manages to wrap everything up in this "impenetrable" cellophane, or maybe he just uses a sort of deceptive sincerity to pull it off.

Personally, I’m convinced Lewis was already locked in as the number one driver way before anyone else knew.
Let's just ignore those ridiculous stories about him turning it down... or how he supposedly pushed to get Rosberg out... you know, all that stuff that usually gets leaked through the British media outlets. 🤦
