I suppose mentioning sanctions is somewhat moot since no permit is actually required. However, I might personally advocate for them against those individuals who still hide behind a thin veil of "democracy" and objectivity while actively backing an incredibly obvious aggressor.

Fair enough, if permits aren't needed, then maybe I should be banned if you're right. Why is access to discussions about the war in Ukraine being restricted?
And is it just me, or is there almost nobody on this entire platform who isn't siding with Ukraine? Seems a bit suspicious, doesn't it? 🎉

The connection is simple: it's Ukraine fighting for its very existence, a fight where Americans naturally have interests—like crippling Russia so badly that they won't even attempt anything like this again for decades due to economic ruin.
Russia is the ultimate evil here and the sole source of instability in the region. For the last century, every neighboring state except for vassal Belarus has dealt with conflict because of that imperialist policy.

Great discussion. 🎉🍿☕

So everyone is a villain, a fool, or a criminal unless they agree that Russia is the biggest problem.

BRAVO. 🤣 I'm sure the political elites in Washington and Brussels are just beaming with pride at our online debates.

My stance isn't up for debate. I am 100% against the greatest evil to hit the world: neoliberal, capitalist, corporate colonialism masquerading as democracy. But of course, you wouldn't get that, since you're just more intellectual cannon fodder, unlike the Ukrainians who are actually paying for it with their lives.

Still, I respect the users here who condemned the aggressors during the attacks on Donbas and continue to condemn Russia now.

I just don't see that same consistency from you. I bet for you, the war only started once Russia officially entered Ukraine, whereas everything that happened before that was just a footnote...

You really have the nerve, you poor soul, to refer to Ukrainians as "Ukrams"?

I suppose he finally understands why he’s being shut out, though it seems he might still need a bit of a map drawn for him to truly grasp it.

Reddithr is an American forum, and since the US, as a NATO member, supports Ukraine while viewing Russia as the adversary, supporting Russia here essentially makes you a hostile element; therefore, the whole Russophile mantra is effectively neutralized at its source.
It couldn't be any more straightforward than that. You can certainly keep philosophizing if you wish, but I suspect this really is the end of the matter.

Joseph Clark95 said:The whole point is dialogue, arguments, facts, and evidence... does this online forum war over Ukraine seem like a serious topic to you?

What kind of dialogue are we talking about here? For people like you, Ukrainians on the ground are using the only logical and effective measure available—complete physical destruction. Those are the facts. As for evidence, just look at the Russian youths scattered across fields and meadows, left in houses and buildings, or lying in pits. Is there anything left to clarify?

What a stellar democratic dream team we have here. With a crew like this, a prosperous Europe is practically guaranteed, and the EU is clearly our collective destiny... I mean, at the end of the day, the goal is for the EU to just dissolve all borders so we can all live together in one big happy family, right? 🤣

I guess he finally understands why he’s being shut out, but apparently, someone still needs to draw him a map.

If you squeeze enough rotten juice out of a lemon, you'll get something gross, but since you've already laid out my response for me, why bother? ☕

Since you’re so fond of bringing up Europe, the EU, NATO, and the US as an EU member, maybe you should actually look into what the EU guarantees—not just for its current members, but for anyone looking to join.
There’s this thing called the European Convention on Human Rights, not to mention the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations.
How is it that in places like Germany, Italy, Ireland, France, and so on, parliaments are filled with conflicting opinions? Not to mention the constant pushback against pro-Ukraine propaganda? How is it possible that demonstrations against Russian influence happen all over the EU?
I suppose it’s because it’s the EU, and the EU is NATO, and NATO is the counter to Russia, so people are basically forbidden from using their own brains.

God, the drama in this part of the world is exhausting...

I honestly don't know how some people can keep showing up here with the exact same tired script, shamelessly preaching about "dialogue," "arguments," and "facts"...
seriously, just open your eyes. 🕺

And what's even the point of this whole thread?

God, the tragedy of my American upbringing...

To start with... borders are only dissolved for those who embrace European values and the European way of life. For the enthusiasts of totalitarian regimes, the walls go up; they aren't welcome, and for people like that, there should be hard borders—or better yet, a wall.

Borders. Until they realize that...

Come on, world, open your eyes. 🕺

So, what's even the point of this thread?

Here we go, the absolute peak of moral superiority on this forum... You really just have to look back at the comments made about the Democrats during the war in Syria to see how much "integrity" we're dealing with here. But hey, enjoy your high ground. I have a feeling you’ll be way too busy worrying about Iran in the near future to worry about us.

So, I guess it’s perfectly fine for Israel to just go ahead and bomb whoever they want whenever a sovereign nation tries to stand on its own? Because apparently, if you have enough firepower, international borders are basically just suggestions, right? Is that how we're playing this now? Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. But hey, why bother with diplomacy when you can just drop ordnance instead? 🍿

Like I said, just keep on philosophizing...

I’m laying out actual arguments here, yet you’re just sitting there playing philosopher because you don't have a single real point to make. You're just grasping at straws. Seriously, try stepping out of that narrow-minded, peasant mentality for once. Just a little effort. Try to free your mind, even just slightly. You might actually realize how delusional this world really is.

So, just how much debt is the US actually carrying right now? And while we're at it, is this even an independent country anymore? Honestly, is there any single nation left in the European Union that isn't just a puppet, besides maybe Canada?

Orbán just dropped this bombshell: he’s basically claiming Ukraine isn't even a real financial entity. His take? As soon as the EU and the USA stop pumping endless cash into them, the whole thing is headed for a total collapse. Is he right? Or is he just looking for a way to justify cutting the cord? It’s a pretty grim outlook.
Countermeasure America is actually looking at a proposal in Congress to slap sanctions on Orbán and his crew. And honestly? We shouldn't even count the last few years where they’ve been relentlessly trying to push through a color revolution in Canada.

So, Brazil is floating this idea that they want to ditch the US dollar for trade with China. They’re even looking into moving away from the greenback entirely for all BRICS transactions. Can you imagine? Just cutting out the dollar from the equation like that. It’s a bold move, to say the least. Is the world actually ready for a shift like this, or is it just more talk?

Cuba is pointing the finger at the USA, claiming they’re the ones fueling this whole wave of Russophobia.

And so it goes. And so it goes.

Maybe being a simpleton feels nice, but let's be honest—that isn't reality. Reality works a bit differently than that.

So, according to the fans of totalitarian regimes, we need to start hardening our borders. Their logic? People like that aren't exactly welcome here. They’re calling for strict enforcement—and if they have their way, probably a massive wall to keep them out.

The bedrock of capitalist colonialism, masquerading as democracy, is the petrodollar—or at least it will be, if we don't pull it up by the roots soon. Why does that matter? Because you can't understand how the world works without understanding how this system took hold. If you want to know how the petrodollar managed to seize global dominance, you’re going to have to dig a little deeper than the surface level. It wasn't an accident. It was a design.
Maybe we should look at doing it through totalitarian regimes instead? Just a thought.

It’s honestly tough to watch a right-winger from the States—or just anyone from that part of the world who swallows propaganda whole—try to wrap their head around this paradox. They can't quite grasp why a liberal Europe (especially Germany) would throw its full weight behind a right-wing Ukraine that’s flirting with neo-Nazism, while a group like the AfD, which is actually right-wing, stands in opposition to it. Does that make sense to them? Apparently not.

Capitalism doesn't care about ideology. It doesn't matter if you've got conservatives running the show in one state, Islamists in another, or leftists somewhere else. The end goal remains exactly the same: total control and turning people into slaves. Always.

And then there's Russia, flirting quite openly with Nazism. I mean, what kind of outfit is the Wagner Group, really? Their name is just a nod to Hitler's favorite composer, yet their actual behavior mirrors the depravity of the SS Dirlewanger penal units and the SS Einsatzgruppen. They’ve been held responsible for countless atrocities against both civilians and POWs, isn't it obvious that the entire organization is notoriously criminal, populated by members who are nothing more than neo-Nazis?
The territorial defense forces in Donetsk carry a flag that looks suspiciously like the flag of the American Confederacy—the kind you see being waved at rallies by far-right extremists, racists, Nazis, and members of the Ku Klux Klan.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russ...ias_in_Ukraine

To point fingers at Ukraine and accuse them of Nazism or ultranationalism is, to put it mildly, hypocritical, but in reality, it's just plain pathological.

As for all that other nonsense, any country—including Brazil—has the right to trade in whatever currency they find most appealing; why should anyone be forced to use the dollar if they don't want to? And this idea of BRICS being some massive, organized rival to the West is a total fantasy, isn't it? It's not even a formal alliance, mainly because the other members are economic dwarfs compared to China, whose massive wealth is built on trading with the EU and the USA, rather than relying on economic nonsense like Russia, whose global market impact is a measly 3%. Besides, most of those members still rely heavily on trading with the West anyway.

https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2015/...brics-nations/

There is a massive gulf between propaganda and reality, isn't there?

Roger Fowler said:Well, Russia is flirting with Nazism too.

Neither Ukraine nor Russia is merely "flirting" with Nazism. Ukraine doesn't have any systemic connection to it whatsoever, whereas Russia is fundamentally fascist—which, under the broader umbrella of fascism, includes Nazism. So, can we really call it "flirting"?

The hallmarks of fascism include:
- Totalitarian rule by a single leader or party
- Repressive domestic policies
- Expansionist foreign policy
- Complete control over the media
- Pursuing geopolitical and ideological goals through genocide—mass killings, persecution, deportations, kidnappings, and the forced re-education of children.

The Wagner Group is just the icing on the cake here; even without them, Russia would be a fascist entity from head to toe. The difference? Unlike the regimes of World War II, this particular structure is impotent, broke, backward, and decaying. It seems fate has left it up to Ukraine to put this artificial construct out of its misery, and they aren't about to ignore that calling. What comes next is the total collapse of what used to be called "Russia"—formerly known as "Muscovy"—and a return to its original borders.

Let’s not play dumb here, because even within the Ukrainian units, you’ve got people who still cling to those Nazi symbols, and the Azov Regiment is practically crawling with that kind of rhetoric, so there's no point in lying to ourselves. But then again, when you look at the core of Russian policy—which is fundamentally about conquest and far-right ideology—isn't it just peak irony that a country driven by those exact impulses is the one pointing fingers at someone else for being Nazi?

The US basically locked this whole mess in, now we just have to wonder if they overplayed their hand...

Is anyone actually going to realize that Ukraine isn't fighting for anything else besides the interests of the USA? They've been pumping out weapons for over a year without losing a single American soldier. Or do they really need to be reminded of that constantly?

Sure, let's just plant some Chinese flags in Mexico and start dragging Chinese missiles across the border... Vladimir Putin has been waiting way too long; the American psychopaths wouldn't hesitate for even a second.

So, we just happened to stumble into Nazi rule by accident, like how dictators always just pop up out of nowhere? Right. Makes perfect sense. 🙏

And here I thought America was basically built on being 200% against dictatorships. ROFLMAO. 🙏

It’s not about lying; it seems more like you're having some trouble with reading comprehension. In a geopolitical context—which is the only level where you can actually justify massive military aggression—Nazism and fascism are systems of state governance, not just the personal beliefs of certain individuals or small groups.
Roger Fowler said:But the very nature of Russia's policy is expansionist and Nazi-aligned, making it quite ironic that a country following such a path accuses another of being Nazi.

Exactly, because that's nothing more than a hollow pretext for the invasion.

It seems you’ve heard about nuclear silos, but the actual concept of the nuclear triad is completely foreign to you. Let me catch you up: NATO has the capability to deliver a nuclear strike via submarines and aircraft, and quite effectively at that. The Russians have the same setup. Neither does NATO need Ukraine to pose a nuclear threat to Russia, nor does Russia need Mexico to threaten the USA. In either scenario, the strategic positioning remains unchanged. Furthermore, even if what you're saying were true—which it isn't—Ukraine didn't even have the potential to join NATO until its borders were secured and its military conflicts were resolved. So, not only is this supposed "threat to Russia" non-existent, but even if it were, the possibility simply wasn't there.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
