The thing is, if people actually debated properly, half the users on this forum would get their feelings hurt. They'd end up getting kicked off. Most people just can't handle someone challenging their logic. It isn't even about "talking down" to them—it's just an exchange of info so everyone learns together. But people dodge that because they don't want to change or learn anything. To them, being proven wrong feels like a personal attack on their ego.

So, to avoid all that drama, everyone just keeps the discussions superficial. I've jumped into plenty of heated debates like that myself. They get intense, sure, but they're incredibly useful. And honestly? I haven't lost one yet. That's why I've actually made a bit of a name for myself on some of the international forums.

The Supremes definitely deserves a vote right out of the gate. Honestly, I’m not usually big on albums like this because you really have to sit there and drown in them to get it, and frankly, I just don't have the bandwidth for that.

I'm trying to do the same thing here—post stuff that actually hits. Not those "study this for three hours" records, but things that just land perfectly the first time you hear them.
It takes forever to wrap your head around a band's vibe or an entire album, and if you're doing that, what else are you supposed to be doing with your life?

Remember when I suggested that killer David Bowie album, "The Beach Boys"? People were all like, "Oh, you need to listen to that more," or "You have to really study it." Basically saying they didn't have the time to mess around with one single album for that long.
Look, my favorite thing is that music doesn't *have* to be overly complex, even though I do own some heavy stuff. But I try to avoid that here. I want stuff that's just good—music that hits hard without needing a week of prep work just to "get it." If we do that, what happens to all the other albums out there?
Posting super complicated stuff just so people can act like big-shot experts in front of everyone else is pointless. Complexity isn't everything. Sometimes, the simplest solution is the absolute best.

So I did a little digging on Google and turns out The Pierces is actually just some fake band. 🙏

It’s pretty wild though—it sounds like they’ve got everything mixed in there, from spoken word and Spanish guitars to Indian vibes, classical stuff, even a bit of that sacred music feel, 🙏

Lisa Davis46, I’m not sure how fair it is for you to go in this round with two albums when everyone else just suggested one 🤷 Maybe we could save that new rule for next week—once everyone else has enough time to prep two albums by the same artist (or maybe they can be different?), and then you could pick either River or Nebraska. Personally, I’d probably go with Nebraska for a few reasons, but I’ll leave the final call up to you 😁

redbear12, as far as I can remember, Rumours by F. Maca hasn't even been suggested yet. I mean, I'm usually not a fan of those super mainstream albums myself, so my critique applies to Puffy too for picking Dark Side instead of some deeper cut from Pink Floyd

It feels like there’s some new complication popping up every single week... We’re talking about a game that doesn't even have a massive following on this American forum, so I really don't see the necessity of changing up the format every other day.

Both albums count toward the same category, so I guess that means I can only get one vote per person, not two.

Honestly, starting from the next round, the only reason I care about being able to suggest two things is because I’ve got a massive list of ideas.
But there's no point in grouping them together in the same slot. If I pitch two different albums by two different artists, and someone digs one but hates the other, how am I supposed to know which one actually hit the mark if they only get one vote for both? Every single album needs its own space.

I actually just sat down and watched 'Fearless' for the first time, the one with Jeff Bridges.
The whole thing blew me away; Weir’s direction is incredible, and the way they wrote Bridges' character was just spot on.

It’s classic Coen Brothers stuff, but easily my favorite of their filmography. From the score to the individual scenes, it's a masterpiece, especially with Walter Sobchak and those nihilists. That scene where he crosses out what Treehorn drew, only for this guy with a massive junk to pop up and get caught by the police chief? That’s hands down one of the funniest moments ever filmed. My only gripe is that the soundtrack could've used a little more Creedence Clearwater Revival.

As far as Jeff Bridges goes, 'The Big Lebowski' is obviously my top pick, but 'Crazy Heart' is a close second.

Yeah, I haven't actually seen 'The Fisher King' either.

Look, there isn't really an issue within this group regarding having one little house for two albums. Both baribb and I already suggested two from the same artists, so it’s all connected anyway. We'll see next week if this whole thing even makes sense. Especially, I guess, whether it even makes sense to suggest two completely random albums by totally different artists. That doesn't feel right to me, and it just makes the poll a massive headache.
