It's pretty obvious that Jessica Morris6 would be the best backup choice—mostly because of their taste, and well, because they're gay (I clearly have zero taste, which is why I'm out of the running). Another option would be an urologist and Baribb teaming up, but I barely see them around lately—probably busy with their private lives.

Besides, I don't think Vancha and Amanda Robinson4 are doing a bad job; I just don't get the whole "not having enough time" excuse—setting up polls is basically effortless.

I honestly think I’m the best candidate for this job. I promise that on my very first day, I’ll start by banning baribba just so we don't have to stare at those photos of his anymore, all that garbage drugstore music will be wiped from the platform, and everyone will be required to kick off their posts with "Blessed be the God of Israel."

It’s not even about being too busy... it's more about how the folks who vote for certain albums eventually just stop showing up to the thread, while everyone else just treats it like a suggestion box. Sure, we could easily fix the format or tighten up the rules—like, say, if you don't comment, your suggestions don't count until you actually engage and listen to the Album of the Week instead of just popping in once a week like a robot...

And leave Jessica Morris6 alone! She still hasn't quite grasped the massive difference between catchy pop tunes and actual roots music. 😛

Amanda Robinson4, I’m not talking about everyone being more active on the forum just because of all the concerts—though that's happening too. I'm talking about the Album of the Week thing. I get that there are flaws here, and honestly, it bugs me when people won't bother to comment or vote—even though they always show up to suggest things. But, I guess, it's better to do it that way than not at all. Also, if you guys don't think Album of the Week should continue, then maybe we should just lock the thread and move on to something else. Song of the Day didn't really take off, but I don't see why we shouldn't try something different.

Music isn't quite as intense as the Politics or Religion boards—but still—you gotta keep discussions on track and hand out those bans. It doesn't happen much, and honestly, it's just not my thing. Not saying it's a bad way to run things, just not how I'd do it.

Well, some good ideas were already thrown out there (I think unknown and Kvart were the first ones that came to mind), but clearly they weren't picked up. If they're interested, maybe they could pitch them again—to be honest, I forgot the specifics, but I remember them having potential.

Maybe one of them could take the lead and organize something (if they feel like it, obviously), and the rest of us will help out if needed.

This subforum is basically like tourism in the States; it’s fantastic when the crowds show up, but when things go quiet, you’ve pretty much got the whole place to yourself for photos.

We really need to find some way to bring in a fresh crowd somehow.
