Dennis Hall41 said:Honestly, I think it should just be me and Jessica Morris6 making the suggestions, because frankly, none of you have any decent taste. Now, Nathan Murphy actually knows what he's talking about, though...

Our taste is clearly superior, obviously, but I suppose there might be a few decent ideas floating around from the rest of you every now and then. Personally, I’d prefer if we didn't push the whole hipster aesthetic quite so hard, even if it isn't the absolute worst thing ever. I haven't a clue what our secret is, maybe it's because we've actually lived a little more than the rest of you... Nathan Murphy, why don't you weigh in on this? ☕

Jesse Jackson3 said:On this album, Frenkie actually did a cover of that artist you have in your profile—though, I have a feeling you might not be a huge fan of his take on it. 😁

Anyway, you should definitely give that longer version of Power of Love I posted earlier a listen.

Man, I can't believe it. The worst part is I actually started listening to them, but I gave up after a few tracks because they just didn't really hit me—maybe I just wasn't in the right headspace for it. But that Talk Talk album you suggested? I'll happily spin a few tracks from that whenever I'm craving that 80s sound.

Oh, and I just finished listening to that Born to Run cover... turns out you were right, it’s actually really good. 😁

Hey, I totally called you out! 🙂

Even though I'm ten days late... I somehow managed to scrape together some thoughts about Bill and the smog while feeling under the weather and a bit depleted... 🙂🙂
The hardest part is writing about the people you care about most. I guess nothing you put down just feels like enough.

Mark Cruz15 said:Our taste is clearly top-tier, though I can admit there are some decent alternative suggestions out there. Personally, I’d prefer if we dialed back the hipster vibe just a little bit—it's not a dealbreaker, but it could be toned down. I wonder what our secret sauce actually is; maybe it's because we finally gave that guy a shot. Crow89, care to weigh in? ☕

From here on out, it’s nothing but funk, folks. Nothing else. funk being the salvation ☕

Mark Cruz15 said:Look, our taste is obviously better—obviously—but hey, sometimes there are actually decent suggestions out there from other people. Personally? I’d love it if they didn't push the hipster stuff quite so hard, though it’s not the end of the world. I don't know what our secret ingredient is... maybe it's because we've all been with a man? Come on, Crow89, weigh in here. ☕

I feel terrible saying this, but honestly, those obnoxious Reddit hipsters are what I end up listening to most often. 😁

Every now and then, some other stuff catches my ear and I try to branch out, but I always end up circling right back to the hipster scene. 😂

Other stuff gets mixed in here and there, and I do try to branch out and listen to different things, but I always seem to drift right back to that hipster vibe...😂

We really need to try and get you on the right track. As a little Christmas gift, I’m getting you a Ceca - Usher CD.🙂

You know I’m a fan of pretty much everything—classic rock, metal, soul, blues, and obviously old-school hip hop. But lately, I’ve had funk on constant repeat. It’s been the perfect vibe for these fall days, so I’ll definitely be suggesting some stuff from that genre over the next few weeks.

Look, I know—I was actually planning on heading over to lay some groundwork and keep the debate going with those guys from the site, but I guess I’m just not feeling it lately. 😁 Just keep the funk, soul, rock, and whatever else you can get your hands on coming my way.

Since the regulars haven't dropped their picks yet, maybe they could extend the voting deadline until at least Saturday?

I'm pretty familiar with the shop and Let It Bleed, but if a bunch more albums get added, there's no way I'll have time to listen to everything.

They've definitely already got my vote:
Let It Bleed—not even gonna go into it, Gimme Shelter is a total masterpiece. (The Clayton version is killer, but honestly, Fischer is more my vibe)
Gavin's minimalist album is beautiful and hits right in that sweet spot for me, so yeah, definitely a vote there.
