So, here’s how my first post managed to spark a debate unlike anything I've seen in any other Album of the Week thread—and yet, somehow, I can't even get a simple warning to show what kind of mess I actually stirred up.😢

You aren't the first one, brightwolf48, to notice this—over at Jenny Hval, we saw a similar situation where it opened the door for a totally fresh and productive debate. 😉 Mind you, we do have to watch the tone of the conversation every now and then, but that's why Lisa Davis46 and sometimes I am hanging around to give a heads-up or step in if things get a bit wild... 🙂

This one is a bit of a deep cut compared to his usual stuff. It’s pretty much an outlier in his discography, released back in 1990. The whole thing really centers around this epic, 47-minute ambient title track that acts as the massive heart of the record.

Look, we all know how massive he became after dropping Oxygene back in 1976. He spent the rest of the 80s churning out hits that basically became the gold standard for instrumental music—real evergreen classics. But if you ask me? This title track is actually his most impressive and mature work. It’s where he really found his footing.

If you look under the hood, the 90s underground scene in Seattle was absolutely wild. You had bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Mudhoney, Melvins, Screaming Trees... just an insane amount of top-tier talent coming out of one single corner of the country. 😁

Look, I haven't actually spun any of these albums yet. I usually stick to the "highbrow" stuff over whatever’s topping the Billboard charts, but I figured I'd throw my vote toward Justin just to humble us all a little bit and kill off this elitist vibe on the forum. 😁 🙏
