Alright, just copy and paste this right here so you don't have to bother clicking any links, https://i.postimg.cc/Qxxps9Bk/0885686072318-600.jpg. Just make sure to wrap it with (image) at the end.

Aside from learning about music in this thread, I guess we're all picking up basic HTML lessons now too. 👍 😁

Man, seriously 😍

They’ll probably ditch me for this now—but honestly, how am I supposed to resist? 🙂

San Salvador - la Granda Folie (2021)

image

San Salvador isn't just some collection of tunes from far-off islands…

This album basically landed in my lap by accident, and now I’m channeling my inner Phil Collins, shouting "touch The Screen!" like some frantic preacher in hopes of convincing everyone that this little gem—both sonically and soulfully—is exactly what we need right now. It’s the perfect reflection of where things stand.

If you happen to be one of those people who gravitates toward small miracles
sung in a language you almost certainly don't speak
with lyrics steeped in tradition but wrapped in arrangements that definitely aren't
packaged as a labor of love and artisanal craftsmanship
and somehow manages to be political, smart, romantic, and a beautiful little act of rebellion all at once
(plus, the visuals are hands down the best ever, even if they look a bit plain at first glance—trust me on this one!)
then this is the record for you. 🙂

teaser (literally):

For the curious souls out there, the standout track for me has to be the stunning Enfans de la Campagna. That specific performance was enough to convince me that this will easily be my favorite album of the year. 🙂

Pagans, rise up!*

*you pagans, go rebel—consider this my official vote.🙂

Thanks! 👍

As for me, whenever I tried that, I either ended up with absolutely nothing or a massive wall of text that went on for a thousand characters. 😲

I don't know how you pulled that off. Usually, I either get nothing at all or my screen just fills up with a million characters. 😲

I just uploaded it to Postimage, copied the link, and called it a day. My W3C skills are pretty basic, but I used to work alongside developers, so I picked up a few tricks along the way.

He probably just uploaded it directly to Postimg himself... honestly, finding an image with decent resolution can be such a pain sometimes.

EDIT: Oh, wait, you already cleared that up.

A big welcome to the newcomers, kvekukvaku, and Xavier 👍 I'm super excited to dive into these suggestions and see what you guys have in store for us! 🙂

Accidentally clicked on San Salvador. Look, I don't consider myself a total slob, and hopefully it’s nothing serious, but they’ve got my voice now! 👍🙏🙏

It kind of sounds like some early ensemble or maybe some indigenous music from before the Europeans arrived in South America.

I love scrolling through Spotify just to see how people are ranking. There’s something low-key awesome about catching an artist when they have fewer than a hundred listeners. 🙂

Krupps 66,555
Interpartysystem 78,240
The Byrds 2,001,043
Explosions in the Sky 524,354
Vuco 17,411/Siniša Vuco 4,101
Third Ear band 2,536
Sade 4,227,717
Lovage 75,824
Out of this whole list, I'll only call out Jordin Savall 385,877
San Salvador 10,638 (Honestly, these guys are killing it—totally chill vibes!)

I'm definitely spinning San Salvador on Spotify just so they can count me as one more listener. 🎉

That’s actually the 11th album. Not sure what the rules are on that one right now.

I've officially kicked off my album season again, so I'll be stepping back from this later.

Last time we chatted, we said since everyone's getting so hyped up about this, we'd allow more than ten. We're taking suggestions until the end of the day, then the poll goes live!

redbear12, this album is honestly stunning. Again.

San Salvador - la Granda Folie (2021)

Xavi, cut the crap. 🙂 It’s pretty great that you can't!
I'll finally get around to listening to that album, I guess... I just didn't have the chance when you mentioned it over on the other thread.
🙂

Maybe I'll throw in a suggestion to beef up this already killer list, though I guess I don't want to be that person who suggests something every single round...

That’s colonizer sound, plain and simple—not indigenous. 😁

There's definitely a point there. 🙂
But hey, go ahead and vote for San Salvador—then maybe we can actually dive into the details—like where exactly San Salvador is located and what kind of music they're even playing.*

redbear12, I love that you fell for it just as quickly as everyone else 🙂

*What a sales pitch, honestly. I feel like some door-to-door Amway rep out here 🤣

San Salvador might actually be an interesting spot.
And why is this guy wearing an FC Barcelona jersey? 😁
