Current motherboard: ASUS ROG Maximus,

I have 2x4GB DDR3 Corsair Dominator 1600 MHz installed in slots 0 and 1.

I also purchased
some Corsair Dominator and HyperX memory, 2 x 4 GB at 1600 MHz, and I put those in slots 2 and 3.

Everything seems to be working fine.

Is this configuration okay, or should I have matched them up as 0 and 2, then 1 and 3?
The Corsair and Kingston modules have different latencies...

It stands to reason that they’re functioning correctly, given all four modules are transparent, but if you're actually looking to squeeze out some extra performance, you really ought to group them by color—meaning slots 1 and 2 or 3 and 4. Once you've done that, the system should properly report dual channel mode during the boot sequence.

Yes, that’s exactly how I set it up; one color per type. It doesn't show dual channel mode during boot, but in the BIOS, it clearly lists bank0 as Corsair Dominator and bank1 as HyperX...

Just make sure they're the same color and you should be all set—that’ll give you dual channel mode..

If you want to double-check, just grab https://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/cpu-z_1.89-en.exe
.
Once you install it, head over to the memory tab; it’ll show you all your specs, and you're looking for "dual" next to the channel info..

If you want to be absolutely certain, just download https://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/cpu-z_1.89-en.exe

Once you install it, check the memory tab; it'll show all your specs, and the channel should list as dual..

Thanks a lot, I appreciate the help. It is indeed running in dual channel.
