Checking in on how Alonso is looking—everyone else is basically just fighting for scraps here
but first things first, I'm really looking forward to qualifying
just gotta keep an eye on Maldonado and Grosjean, especially if they manage to break into the top 10
those two act like they've never even seen a steering wheel or a brake pedal before

Vettel takes pole position.
My prediction for the rest of the grid: Lewis, Button, Webber.

Vettel, Mark, Alonso, Webber

Look, if things go south tomorrow—if Alonso's engine fails or Vettel gets screwed over by a botched pit stop in a split second—you'll end up with that perfect, ironic picture from the start of this whole conversation 😁😁😁

(though Mark could always pull off a win; it’s not impossible 😳)

It’d be pretty wild if those two "old timers in their puberty phase" ended up lined up like this: Kimi in P1, with Alonso stuck somewhere between P2 and P4. Just to stir the pot between them a little bit. Nobody else really matters... 😛

It’s an all-or-nothing situation for both Mark and Hemu—and let’s be clear, neither of them is some amateur playing at this, far from it.

Maybe if they get too aggressive trying to cut each other off, they’ll end up wrecking one another🤣 but honestly, at least then we won't be able to claim they didn't leave everything on the track to make it happen.🤣

Then again, maybe Kimi was just playing it safe yesterday; it’s hard to say for sure.

I'm telling you, Kimi is painfully slow
honestly—just way too sluggish for anything meaningful

I guess we're all expecting a top 3 finish from the maestro today.

I have my doubts about today. Tomorrow? Now, tomorrow I might expect it.

Honestly, if they managed to claw their way into a top 5 finish, I’d say they absolutely crushed it.

I think I heard they actually reverted back to the settings from the last race

and parts of it are redlining:

"Ferrari have so far not appeared to have the pace to challenge for pole position here but Fernando Alonso was as quick as anyone in the race-simulation runs on Friday. The team introduced a big upgrade package here, but it seems they abandoned the new rear wing - Alonso took it off halfway through the second session on Friday and it is not on the car again for this final session either. Having a new aerodynamic part that does not produce what they expected is a recurring theme at Ferrari and the team admitted it was 'a bit of a concern'."

And Red Bull is swapping stuff out too, isn't it? 😕

Red Bull has a modified front wing, plus an updated floor and diffuser.

Once again, they were solid in both Monaco and Valencia.

Man, Webber really didn't need that hit against the barrier right now 🙄

They just used X-rays on Webber's car to check for cracks in the front suspension components.

I'm skeptical.
Hamilton and Vettel are miles ahead...
Fernando will likely find himself ahead of Button during the race, though Button might benefit if Fernando ends up getting tangled up with the rest of the field.
As for Webber... well, he's in a Red Bull that clearly has pace, so it's hard to imagine him having a bad run.
Ferrari is eating through their tires, even more so than McLaren and Red Bull.

Total wrecks are completely unacceptable.
So, I’m expecting more caution and fewer reckless lunges, especially given what’s surrounding the track—all that concrete and those barriers. And yeah, I'm talking about the leaders.

As for qualifying, I expect Alonso to land in the top 3. That would basically guarantee him a podium finish and honestly, it's his only real shot at winning.

No point even saying it helped Petrov 😁

You really think they'll play it safe?
I'd bet anything that the start is going to be a disaster and we'll see an SC almost immediately.
A bunch of them are gonna end up smashed against the barrier just like Petrov did today—Perez nearly went too...
It's wild to me how huge the gaps are in practice—they used to be within a second of each other, but now the differences are massive.
