Honestly, both kids. I just saw her latest video being pushed all over my YouTube home page today... man, they are both painfully untalented. It’s a shame, really. No matter how much money Will Smith throws at the production, you just can't buy actual talent.

Ugh, I need to write this down just so I don't end up shouting out my window: what an absolute disaster of a movie! Honestly, given that Smith is usually such a staple for big blockbusters and M. Night is someone you'd actually expect to see something watchable from, this was a massive letdown. It felt like the whole thing was just: Will Smith: "Hey M., I've got this idea and some cash to make it happen, you want to direct?" and then basically just using his kid to act while he sits in a chair for most of the runtime. It turned out terribly—from the awkward facial expressions of the kids and the sloppy script to a messy plot, and even the CGI was so bad it was almost funny. It honestly reminded me of some old Discovery Channel or National Geographic documentaries from over a decade ago. My advice? Just sleep on it and forget it ever happened!

The movie is basically background noise for when you're falling asleep. It doesn't really meet any other expectations.
The only thing I actually liked was the color-changing suit idea. That part was pretty cool.

What did I just watch 😕 Calling this movie "garbage" is honestly being too generous🙂 The entire plot is basically just someone walking through the woods and... that's it. Nothing happens. 🙂
And don't even get me started on the lead actor, I won't even go there👎

I don't think Smith's acting is actually the biggest issue here—it's those eyebrows of his. They give him this permanent "sad puppy" look no matter how hard he tries to commit to a scene. The concept behind the movie is actually pretty decent, but the execution? Total disaster. And what was even happening with that eagle?? Like, "Oh, I caught an eagle for my kids' lunch, but everyone else died while you survived, so now I guess I'll just save you"?? Give me a break.
Watch it once if you absolutely have to, then never again.

I mean, yeah. When basically everyone (and I mean *everyone* on this thread) is calling it trash, you kind of have to sit down and witness the disaster firsthand just to see what the fuss is about. Curiosity is a dangerous thing.

Oh, totally, I’m right there with you—Netflix is a massive headache. Honestly, I’ve sat through so much absolute garbage on there, or at least tried to give it a fair shot, but I usually end up turning it off halfway through because the quality is just so bottom-of-the-barrel and the whole vibe is just plain gross.

Honestly, I started watching it for that exact same reason. 😁
But I ended up turning it off after five minutes flat. 😁

I'm doing a total facepalm for Knight.

It honestly feels like it's high time they hired a professional screenwriter, because the current direction just doesn't hold water.
What’s even more frustrating is that his last few films have felt like half-baked, unfinished products. It's like *The Last Airbender* was just thrown together in a single afternoon without a second thought.

The story shows real potential. I liked how they built the setting, the atmosphere was solid, and the CGI was decent enough. That’s about all the good stuff I can say.

The negatives have already been mentioned, but here are my personal favorites:

-That massive wild bird wandering around outside, spotting a guy, dragging him into cover, covering him up, and then ending his life.
I think a typical ten-year-old would just roll their eyes at that scene.

-That almost telepathic connection between the father and son near the end of the movie.🙄

-The second part of the plane is located at 62 miles 🤷. You’d expect it to be maybe a mile or two away, but on 62 miles? Seriously? At least it wasn't on the other side of the country.

-Young Smith's acting is genuinely terrible. It’s the wrong role for a fourteen-year-old.

-A total cliché scene where he just stops feeling fear. Nobody ever expects a twist like that.

-The weapons and technology used don't make sense, among other things. I still need to process that.

If they’d just flipped the script—you know, kept the kid stuck in the ship while Will took over his role instead... honestly, it probably would've worked way better.

The core idea isn't half bad, and the production value holds up. It didn't even bore me too much, which is saying something since I live for post-apocalyptic stories 😁.

The movie is a total mess. The ship looks like some cheap roadside diner instead of advanced tech for a civilization this far along... it’s honestly embarrassing. And don't even get me started on that foil covering the hull; it looks exactly like the plastic wrap you'd find in a grocery store aisle at a Walmart. Smith is playing "polished" so hard it’s painful, and frankly, he's terrible here. I get that it's just the role he was cast in, but when I think about his better work, this is just a disaster. As for the son? An absolute hack. That’s being generous. This could have been so much more than this. It basically boils down to some tiny birds and a bird dying just to save Kitai (that's it). 3/10
