The movie has some decent effects, I guess, but I’m just totally clueless about this stuff... honestly, a group of kids could probably film something more believable!!
First issue... there's this alien creature called Ursa... and the whole storyline is just poorly handled—like, how does Ursa manage to climb all the way up to the 22nd floor where his family lives without having slaughtered 34,000 other people along the way? It’s like she just popped into his apartment—you know, knocked on the door like, "hello, I'm Ursa, groaaarrrrr!!"
Second issue... his son goes sprinting across a planet where the temperature swings between day and night are absolutely extreme, and before he can even freeze solid, he somehow happens to stumble right into a cave covered in prehistoric cave paintings... I mean, come on... he just happens to fly straight into a cave filled with Neanderthal drawings!!!!
Third issue... if the temperature difference between day and night is so intense that a human being couldn't survive a single night from the cold... then you couldn't possibly have a jungle like you see in Costa Rica or massive redwood forests with lush greenery and tons of diverse wildlife everywhere...
Fourth issue... a gap of 1,000 years is just way too small for life on Earth to evolve into what they show in the movie... I mean, 1,000 years isn't even a blink of an eye in terms of evolution! They showed these new species of wild cats, and that eagle with a 12-meter wingspan building these completely enclosed nests... and then finally, a lion-hyena hybrid climbing trees to get at the bird's eggs... hahaha... I don't think hyenas climb trees to raid nests, let alone lions... and certainly not even "evolved" hybrids would do that!!
Fifth issue... the baboons hunt in packs like lions or hyenas and actually show signs of intelligence and tactical planning during the hunt!!
Sixth issue... the son is drinking some kind of liquid to help his lungs survive the atmosphere of Earth... while simultaneously sprinting across freshly cooled lava and inhaling tons of volcanic smoke and gases just released from the volcano...
It seems like every single animal "evolved" into these weird new shapes except for the wild boars, which stayed exactly the same!!
But yeah, basically... total waste of money...

Man, after watching this, even those old Steven Seagal movies actually seem kind of believable and... I don't know, maybe even watchable?!! 🙂

I’ve actually decided to skip even watching the trailer for this one—I don't want to form any preconceived notions before the credits roll.

Maybe that’s exactly why I ended up loving the movie so much. If you walk into a theater already having mapped out the entire plot in your head, of course the twists are going to feel predictable. On the flip side, it really makes you wonder—have we all just watched way too many sci-fi flicks lately?
I’m looking through the comments right now, and honestly, I’m a bit floored by some of these takes. Please, let's not just throw hate around because a father is pushing his kid into the spotlight; the kid's performance was genuinely fantastic. They really put in the work. Plus, from a technical standpoint, the cinematography was absolutely flawless.

Hey, at least we finally got one positive take on the movie under our belts!

So, what would you even compare this flick to? Like, if we’re talking actual quality, is it sitting on the same level as something like Moon? 🤷

I caught it last night and I’m still reeling... The CGI was absolutely abysmal, featuring everything from ten-foot eagles to some sort of hybrid lions... a complete disaster...
That Ursus creature was just ridiculous—it seemed practically blind, yet somehow only perceives those beings that don't fear it, which felt like a transparently heavy-handed nod to promoting the Church of Scientology through that whole ghosting gimmick...
The only redeeming quality was the kid being named Kita, which provided us with endless amusement whenever Will was calling out for him...

😂

What on earth was Smith thinking when he made such a desperate excuse for a movie? I guess he actually assumed the audience is so gullible that we’d just swallow any piece of garbage he throws at us.
I really hope they actually take a second to think things through before they even attempt to greenlight another one of these movies.

Personally, I’d say Oblivion is actually a notch or two more engaging! It feels a bit more interesting than most episodes of DS 9, though it still falls slightly short of the standard set by most TNG episodes.

Ah, okay, I get you. But hey, can you tell me about the special effects? I keep seeing people complain about them looking cheap, so is it at least vizuelno impressive?

Man, it’s such a struggle because everyone is trashing this thing, which just makes me want to see it even more, you know? If nothing else, I just hope the effects aren't a total disaster.

Tickets are going on sale tomorrow for a discount—like, they'll be a buck cheaper—so I guess I'll chew on the idea until tomorrow night.

Maybe his kid ran up to him, begging to follow in his uncle's footsteps, and he just caved so he wouldn't look like a pushover.

Or perhaps the kid had the nerve to tell him to stop being an idiot and get back to school, prompting him to hold a grudge for the rest of his life because his potential career was shot. 🙂

From a purely aesthetic standpoint, the movie is absolutely gorgeous. The cinematography and the framing of certain scenes are just fantastic. As for whether the CGI holds up—well, that's really down to personal taste, so why not judge for yourself:

Look, at the end of the day, that’s my main priority—if the plot is a little thin or the dialogue doesn't quite hit the mark, I can totally live with that as long as the movie pulls me in visually, you know? I just want to sit back in a dark theater and get absolutely lost in the spectacle on that massive screen! If the visuals are stunning enough to carry the whole experience, who cares if the story is a bit light? Isn't that what the big screen is all about anyway?

I mean... honestly? This is actually pretty great. Like, seriously, this is just really good. 👍

I guess I'll just let it all marinate for a bit since I've got until tomorrow night to make up my mind, right?

Honestly, they might as well have just made an adult film right then and there—it probably would've been a lot more enjoyable for both of them! 😂

I’m just throwing my money away and wasting my life on this.

Personally, I think Battlefield Earth is one of the better sci-fi movies out there. Scientology rules!!!

Total garbage movie. There isn't even a single decent scene to make it worth the effort.
Little Smith spends the entire runtime wearing the exact same expression... he looks like someone who just had an accident in the middle of a Target and realized there’s no toilet paper in sight.
Honestly, what a complete waste of time.

Na Over on the movie's Facebook page... I’m totally on the same page as everyone else here! It actually just popped into my head that I should probably check out what people are saying about the shows I’m obsessed with—you know, stuff like Dexter or Breaking Bad—so I figured, why not dive into the discussions for this movie too?

I mean, honestly, how much weight can we even give that? Like, does any of it actually matter in the grand scheme of things?

How on earth can he call him Kita if that’s actually his name? I mean, seriously, does anyone else find that totally bizarre? It just feels so weirdly circular, right? Kitai Raige Kitai Raige 🤷

Man, what a total dumpster fire of a movie! 😢 It’s even more of a letdown because those trailers actually looked decent, and you’ve got Smith headlining it. Where do I even start? The acting is straight-up garbage—everyone is overacting in basically every single scene. Then there’s the CGI, which looks worse than some low-budget B-movies from the nineties. But honestly, the plot is the biggest disaster; it’s so full of holes and nonsense that you’re left sitting there with a permanent "WTF" expression every ten minutes.

While other families are out enjoying road trips, hitting the mall, or going to the movies... it feels like the Smith family just decided to collab on a home video instead; with the dad and son playing the leads and the mom acting as producer. And the result is absolute trash, not even worth a spot in a family photo album, let alone a theater screen. Honestly, even Uwe Boll would probably watch this one and smirk!

Based on the trailer alone, I've already decided this is going to be a total disaster—I didn't even bother watching it, especially since Will Smith is starring in it.☕
