Total flop. Honestly, Guy Ritchie seems to be stuck in this pattern over the last decade—he drops one solid hit followed by a complete dud... and this one was just a massive snooze fest. Nothing to write home about. This Saturday, I’m looking to wash the taste out of my mouth with that new Taylor Sheridan flick.👍

Jokes aside, this French take on the material is honestly much better than anything overly polished from Guy Ritchie...

I have to wonder... will Jason Statham ever actually play a role that’s different from everything else he’s done?🤔
It's always that exact same look... the same cadence... the same tired routine every single time.🤦
It's a curse that seems to plague so many of them... take Liam Neeson, for example. They land one decent part and then they just churn out the exact same character for the next 20 years.
Now, I’m not saying Jason Statham is any better than Chuck Norris or Steven Seagal, but still.☕

Maybe my standards are off, or maybe it’s just because I waited a few months to catch this in theaters, but this was a completely solid action flick.

What’s the point of watching a movie when you figure out the whole twist halfway through? I usually just end up scrolling on my phone and only look back up once things finally get intense. Is it just me, or are there no more movies left that actually leave you totally stunned?

Terrible movie. Zero tension.
Jason Statham was much better off sticking to cameos.
Someone hit the nail on the head: he’s heading straight toward becoming a Chuck Norris or a Steven Seagal type. Though let's be honest, Chuck Norris will always be a legend, and even Seagal had his moments once upon a time.

I actually enjoyed the movie. I’d just finished two seasons of Mindhunter, so having some mindless action to unwind with felt pretty good. I'm a fan of Guy Ritchie and his visual style; sure, he’s produced much better work than this, but it’s still decent enough for me.
As for Jason Statham, I don't really get why people single out actors like him for criticism, yet when you point out that Keanu Reeves plays basically the same character every time, suddenly everyone starts pushing back against that logic.
There are plenty of actors who find a specific niche and stick to those kinds of roles, which is honestly better than trying too hard and looking pathetic, like Johnny Depp has over the last decade or so.
I’m not claiming Jason Statham is a superior actor to Johnny Depp—that hasn't even crossed my mind—but if you look at their last ten roles, Statham has actually been more consistent, even if he hasn't stepped outside his usual mold.

Jason Statham really knows how to hold his own in those high-octane action flicks—he’s got the movement down—but I find myself wondering how he’d actually fare in a gritty drama or even just a decent comedy. It's an interesting question, I suppose, though we probably won't ever get an answer since the guy seems perfectly content sticking to his established formula.

Then I watched Maggie and I was honestly floored by the depth of the acting and how serious the role was. For my money, that was Academy Awards material. What a killer action flick. Pure adrenaline—the guys and I absolutely loved it.
A few touches were pretty clever, like when they frame him like some kind of superhero, then completely forget he’s holding an empty gun 👍
Complaining that Jason Statham’s roles are all the same or hunting for "artistic depth" is just nitpicking. Action fans don't give a damn about the dialogue quality; we just want to see the body count go up😁.

Action fans know there’s a difference between mindless spectacle and smart action movies with actual depth and solid acting. This one doesn't hit that mark, and honestly, Jason Statham isn't really built for high-caliber, thoughtful action. Most of his filmography feels like brainless muscle movies, much like the stuff Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger were churning out back in the 80s. Sure, those guys are legends, but they belong to that specific "popcorn flick" category where the movies play more like comedies than serious cinema. Great action doesn't start with them, and it certainly doesn't end with them. It's just a shame that because they're so massive, people assume that's how all action movies are supposed to work.

I think the main reason it worked so well was that I went in with zero expectations, especially since Guy Ritchie was at the helm.
But here’s the thing—it doesn't actually feel like your typical Guy Ritchie flick, which honestly caught me off guard in the best way possible.
Sure, there are a few plot points that are pretty much staring you in the face—like, come on, we all know who the "inside guy" is—but that didn't ruin the experience for me one bit.
The bottom line:
It's a solid action thriller that doesn't try too hard to be something it isn't.
I see some people out there expecting something along the lines of Bernardo Bertolucci or Ingmar Bergman... well, good luck with that while you're busy watching movies starring Jason Statham.
