In Formula 1, though, these guys are putting their lives on the line...
Years ago, Luis Salo—a MotoGP 2 rider—lost his life at turn 12 in Barcelona...
His bike slid out, hit the tire barriers, and just a second or two later, Salo collided with the stationary bike... (you can check it out on YouTube if you want to see the footage...)
He died right there on the track...
And that was turn 12—the penultimate turn—which isn't even used in Formula 1 anymore...
In Formula 1, they actually installed a chicane after that turn to slow things down before the main straight...

Nasr should be ahead of Palmer.

Hamilton should’ve been slapped with two separate penalties, honestly. First off, he cut that chicane right when they were totally screwing over Ricciard in the pits, and even with that mess, he still had an unfair advantage—if Hamilton had just taken the corner properly, maybe Ricc would've come out ahead. Then there was that second instance during the braking zone after the tunnel.

Ricciard drove like an absolute beast, though it's such a damn shame Red Bull Racing basically snatched two wins away from him over the last two weekends. In my book, he's hands down the best driver in Formula 1.

Pure nonsense.

Hamilton made a mistake during his outlap, and that mistake cost him lost time.

The outlap time makes it obvious—1:42.

That single lap messed up the whole situation, which is why we saw Rič parallel to Hamilton at st. Devote.
Even with a decent outlap from Hamilton, a perfect pit stop wouldn't have saved Ričard.
