Alonso will drive through next season and that’s the end of it. Period. McLaren might see a slight improvement over their current state, but they are miles away from being a legitimate title contender. Alonso is done giving his all to this team, and that's that.

I'm probably switching my support to Ricciardo too. Most likely.

Alonso is planning to stick around for another five seasons after this one... aiming to snag four titles in the process... followed by a year off to go win Le Mans driving for Porsche... and then, of course, he’ll make a comeback to pick up two more championships with Renault

That 2014 season doesn't bother me one bit...
If any seasons actually get under my skin, it's 2005 or 2009—years where my favorites missed out on titles despite having every chance. As for the seasons where my guys never stood a prayer at winning a championship? Don't give me that crap...

Nobody is saying Ricciardo hasn't won races in his career; he definitely will again...
But winning a race, or two, or three, isn't the same as taking a title. You need way, way more than that for the big one 🙂

Sure, Ricciardo has that flashy driving style and is definitely among the better F1 drivers, but I don't think he's quite complete or consistent enough to be a champion...
I mean, if he were truly that elite, Kvyat wouldn't have been able to hold his own against him, and he certainly wouldn't be getting thrown off his game by Max, who still acts like an amateur and hasn't grown up enough to be a real F1 driver, let alone anything more.
Still, regardless, that kid Max will probably grab a title in Red Bull before Ricciardo does...

Anyway, regarding Monaco, it’s pretty wild how Hamilton blew a win last year thanks to his own pit wall's stupidity, only to win this year because the rival pit wall messed up 😁
It's the same story with Ricciardo: he picked up wins in his career thanks to luck and Mercedes being idiots, and now he's losing wins because his own pit wall is acting like idiots...
So, that old saying is actually right: what goes around comes around...

It was great rooting for Alonso—he gave me two titles, one against McLaren and Kimi, and the other against Sumiy and Ferrari back when they were at their peak. What more could you ask for?

We've already seen how Kvyat ended up and who the team actually values more 👋
