PC build for $900 (monitor included)

Hey, I could use some help putting together a PC. It’s mostly just going to be for browsing and streaming movies—please, just build me something decent so I don't end up with a total piece of junk. My budget is around $600 including the monitor, though if we can pull it off cheaper, even better. I definitely want an SSD for Windows, plus a 500GB hard drive, and I need to be able to hook the desktop up to my TV via the GPU. I was thinking about grabbing a Dell UltraSharp from one of the Links—the one priced right at $200—because I really want things to look crisp while I'm watching stuff. I had a Dell before and honestly, I loved it. But, if there isn't actually a massive difference between those $130 models and this one, let me know—I'd love to hear what you guys think. Please, try to pick everything from the Links so it's easy for me to grab it all at once—just go by the listed web prices. Thanks. Also, the monitor can't be bigger than 25"; anything larger won't fit my setup.

I tried putting this together at Best Buy, but honestly, it was a total letdown. They didn't have what I was looking for, and everything felt overpriced.

Bottom line: $1769 I can't believe they're charging $80 for shipping—it’s a total joke! If you're looking at Centro, just know that while they offer free assembly, that delivery fee is a massive gut punch. It feels like they're trying to sneakily hike up the price after you think you've found a deal. Seriously, watch out for that.$40...you can just pay cash on delivery.

Got it, thanks. Can I hook my desktop up to the TV? Also—is it possible to use a Dell monitor instead? Honestly, I wouldn't mind if it was a bit smaller, like a 21.5 or 23-inch model. I'm really leaning towards a Dell.

The motherboard's got VGA, DVI, and HDMI outputs available. You could plug this monitor into the HDMI port, and then maybe hook the TV up to whatever else is left—it probably has VGA or maybe even a DVI port.

Regarding the parts list, you should probably just swap out the cooler for this one:

If you order through Micro Center, they offer free shipping and their techs will put it together professionally for you. If you go this route, this machine will basically be a beast for everything—movies, gaming, you name it! 🙂

You don't really need a PC for this, pre-built setups aren't great anyway, and there are better monitors out there.

Maybe just hold off on the recommendations if this is how you're going to play it.
