Jason Campbell70 As specified by Douglas Patel32:
It is truly quite unsettling to contemplate the notion of some mysterious clone stepping in to take over as the manager of the Championship.

Everything about this is simply better than the best. 🙏

As I mentioned previously, this is my new handle, and moving forward, I plan to start posting within the PDF sections and actively engaging in various discussions, so you won't have any trouble finding me around.

So, what was your original handle...

If I had intended to reveal that, I would have done so right from the jump. My old account hasn't been active for quite some time now, and since my ultimate goal is to serve as a championship manager, I find it much more prudent to remain anonymous; it prevents any immediate biases or preconceived notions from clouding the playing field right at the starting line.

Give the man a break; he showed up with plenty of enthusiasm, so why go out of your way to tear him down? 🤷

Cut it out with all this talk about clones and whose clone is whose 😳
I’ll be deleting any discussions like this, and I won't hesitate to issue a ban if necessary.

Look, I have zero clue who we're talking about and frankly, I don't care. As long as they aren't playing games between the clone and the original, who they actually are is irrelevant.
Their rules seem fine to me. I don't see why they couldn't be a candidate for Manager—or even become the Manager if we decide to elect them...

Well... hypothetically speaking, if we're looking at the borderlands, it would be absurd for him not to lead—considering he's the only one ever caught cheating. It would be interesting to see which IP or which state is actually involved here...

And man, what kind of moderator are you? You might as well just be running a local news station.

Nah, it's not the borderlands.☕
I checked, and from what I can tell, none of the big-name players in any competition are involved.

It matters, little guy. It really does.
You aren't just voting on a set of rules; you're voting for a person. The fact that someone went through the trouble of making a clone and refuses to show their face? That says everything about how they view their reputation among the competitors and the rest of the community.

There’s zero transparency here, and it isn't a level playing field.

At the end of the day—it's just more shady business in the Championship.
Is that really what we want?

What am I supposed to do about it?🤷
From where I'm sitting, he isn't anyone's clone.🤷

So what now?
Are you, me, and everyone else just supposed to sit here guessing whose clone he is until the end of time?

I don't see any point in dragging this out.🙄
If most people think being a clone is a massive dealbreaker, then they probably won't vote for him, and he won't be the manager anyway.☕
And honestly, what's even the problem?🤷

If I catch him posting in the same thread using both the clone and the original, I'll know immediately.😁

Hmm, I am not entirely convinced the matter is settled just yet... we shall see if these constant PP notifications regarding coming out of the closet will finally cease.🤣🤣

I have absolutely no desire to get bogged down in debates regarding the clone; my only real interest lies in knowing when the survey is scheduled to go live, especially since the deadline for submissions was stated to be August 30th.

It’s really not that big of a deal right now. We're still ages away from the start of next season... plus, since more people have stepped up as candidates, maybe extending the deadline wouldn't be such a bad idea? It might give us a few more 🤷
Say we pushed it back to September 30, 2012.

Anyway, here’s a quick recap of who’s signed up so far:
Terry Carter2 - suggesting their own rules
darkmarlin16
Douglas Patel32 - suggesting their own rules

And if I remember correctly:
Jason Campbell70 and Matthew Young35
I'm just not sure what happened with their entries or if they actually want to be part of the poll or not.🤷

I’ve been thinking—am I actually eligible to run under the current rules?
Given how much the candidate regulations have been overhauled lately, we might run into a situation where nobody can agree on which set of rules to follow. That would effectively shut out potential contenders, and frankly, the pool of candidates is already shrinking by the day.
So, if there's a way to make it happen, I'm putting my name in the hat based on the 2012 rules, provided we clearly define a few key points within the handbook.
😁

As far as I'm concerned,🙂

Look, how you run the championship is your call. You can pick whatever rules you want, as long as you actually bother to read them and understand them first.
Honestly, it’d be way better if you just wrote the rulebook yourselves. That way, there's no excuse for not knowing what the hell is going on in any given moment.😉

But here’s what actually matters to me:
- Pick a commissioner early enough.
- That commissioner needs to write the rules and actually know them inside and out.
- They have to stick to those rules religiously.
- The players should vote on both the commissioner and the rulebook (doesn't matter if it's together or separate).
- And finally, the players need to follow the rules and respect the commissioner.

If you check all those boxes, you basically eliminate the chance of things going off the rails.🙂

We shouldn't be stuck with a commissioner who just copied some rules from the internet without reading them...
Someone where the players end up explaining the rules *to him*, arguing about why something is or isn't allowed, while he sits there unsure of who's actually right.
It should be the exact opposite—the commissioner should be the one teaching the players the rules.
That’s what hasn't been working so far, and that’s exactly what needs to change.

I wouldn't rush this process too much... we should probably give it another week or two to let the moderator and the admins clarify exactly which rules they’re running by regarding candidacy (specifically, whether they'll stick to the current bylaws or draft a new set of guidelines). Once that's settled, then we can move toward a (public) vote.

Personally, I would have preferred Wayout in the lead role, provided there was a complete overhaul of the rulebook—primarily concerning the scoring system, but also simplifying everything else to make it more concise and straightforward (essentially leaving less room for conflicting interpretations).

Fine, whatever works for you guys. I don't really care...
But honestly, I'd much rather have more candidates and a few different rule sets or scoring systems on the table. If Jason Campbell70 and Matthew Young35 actually want in, let's vote for them too alongside these three. Who knows, maybe someone else will step up.🤷
Main thing is, I’m not running a poll until everyone weighs in.

Look, if they don't have the time or energy to hammer out rules right now, we can just split it up. Pick a host first, then later the host can pitch a couple of different ways to run things.🤷

Either way, the season runs through November 25th, so there's plenty of time to settle everything and get the voting done.😉
We actually started on schedule this time, so there's zero reason to rush.🤷
It's better to have more people bringing different ideas to the table.🙂
