Just a quick heads-up that nobody has stepped up to lead yet...
And fair warning: if we don't get a leader, there won't be a 2013 championship at all...

Don't say I didn't warn you later.

A crucial point.

Yawn. ☕

ruggedfox28 said:Funny how everything was perfectly peaceful while he was MIA... but now that he took an unexpected hit in the tournament, suddenly he's gone quiet. He's probably waiting for things to settle before posting his take on the league's mess and the Super League drama, even though according to him, the whole tournament has already hit rock bottom.🤣 🤣 🤣

We seriously need to get him registered and protected...😁

Hold on a second... did you actually ask if we were happy with how the championship is being run or if we had any complaints? Nope.
Did I write out my thoughts and grievances in a polite, civil way? Yep.
Did I say any of this before you came asking for our input? Not a chance.
And what the hell... why are you trying to link my performance in the tournament to this? What does one have to do with the other?
Plus, why even ask for an opinion if you can't handle hearing it?

As for that claim that "peace reigned everywhere" before I started posting more often... hey, we can debate that. Let the neutral observers decide for themselves if it was actually peaceful or if you're just talking nonsense to try and get a rise out of me.

Even though you brought up other competitions, I’m not going to dive into the Super League—which is basically on the verge of collapsing the whole system—or this current tournament that I’ve already stepped in to save from irregularities twice. I'll stick strictly to the championship since that’s what this thread is about... here are a few of my points...
So, what follows are just a few examples of the endless arguing, back-and-forth, and general chaos in this year's championship. Obviously, these aren't all the posts where people were clashing this season, just a selection I picked. It’s worth noting that all of these happened before I got knocked out in the last race, which is what ruggedfox28 thinks was the moment things started falling apart. 🤣

I gotta admit, I’m actually really glad you nudged me to go back and comb through this whole championship thread. Honestly, some of those "critical" moments had totally slipped my mind—or maybe I just missed them entirely. Before this, I was always so slammed for time that I was just scrolling through the season at lightning speed without really soaking anything in.
I haven't even bothered to sit down and count exactly how many controversial calls there were, but honestly? There were more than enough to make me call this whole championship the most disorganized mess I've ever seen.
Honestly, it's hard to tell just how many people are actually fed up with this year's championship and all the calls being made. We've seen a record number of red cards, warnings, and threats lately, so most folks are probably too scared to even speak up against the officiating for fear of being the next one to get penalized.

But after looking back through everything, I'm 100% certain about one thing: there's no way I'm voting for this current leadership team if they run in the 2013 Championship elections. ☕
Thanks for clearing that up for me, ruggedfox28... 😂

Hmm... honestly, as long as the mods have the power to call all the shots regarding the championship, I don't see much point in playing the same game.

It’s the same story with my opposition to ruggedfox28 leading the show—it feels like he isn't truly independent, since she's always there whispering in his ear... and let's be real, she's a proven fanatic for anything red—from the cardboard decor to the cars themselves, right down to... well, you get it. As long as the cardboard dictates how the championship goes... forget it.

You’ve got my vote if it counts for anything.
As far as I can tell, you're the only one who actually bothered to suggest specific rules and a scoring system, which makes you the frontrunner in my book.

I don't see how anyone could vote for someone whose entire platform is basically just "trust me, I'm the best," without offering any actual structure or guidelines.🤷

From a competitor's standpoint, I'd love to see you officially enter and finally get a look at Matthew Young35's rules and scoring system.🙂

Looks like things have been pretty chaotic here lately.🤦

Alright everyone, this thread is strictly for selecting managers and setting the rules for the 2013 season.😳
Don't waste time here arguing about past managers, who did what, or any other nonsense...

In this thread, candidates need to step up and apply for management positions. Before we vote, you have to lay out the specific rules you plan on enforcing for the championship.
That way, we can actually vote for the most serious candidates based on their actual plans.

Keep the discussions focused on those proposed rules, rather than this year's racing or management styles—you can take all that drama over to this thread.

I've been waiting two whole years for an admin who follows the rulebook to a T instead of making stuff up on the fly to suit their buddies.
I've been waiting two whole years for an admin who can actually bring some order back to this Formula 1 2013 season.

The Formula 1 championship is an open-ended competition where players and teams can sign up at any point throughout the entire season.
To be considered officially registered on a team, you are required to submit a post explicitly stating which squad you are representing. No exceptions.
You can't just jump into an existing team whenever you feel like it. Unless you get the green light from at least one player who was part of that squad last season, you aren't getting in. It’s common sense—you can't just bypass the people who actually put in the work to build the roster.
It’s structured around two-driver teams, where they track both the individual driver standings and the constructors' championship separately.
If you don't sign up to be part of the squad, don't expect to see any credit for the team portion of the competition. It’s that simple.
To be considered an official participant, you have to actually sign up for the competition and make sure your prediction is submitted before the deadline hits. No exceptions.
The official results and standings are released by the director, and once the moderator posts them on the first page of this thread, they are considered final.
Listen, let me make this crystal clear so there’s no confusion later: all competitors must submit their predictions and entries exclusively within this specific thread to be part of the championship. If you try to send your picks or sign up in any other thread, don't bother—they won't count. It’s as simple as that. Stick to the rules, or you're out.

The championship operates under a specific set of rules regarding how you submit your entries. Essentially, you need to publish your predicted finishing order for the entire starting grid, along with your pick for the driver who will secure the fastest lap. You can post these predictions anytime once the previous deadline has passed, provided they are submitted no later than 10 minutes before lights out. This window remains consistent for every single race in the season. To be crystal clear: if a race is scheduled for 2:00 PM and you get your prediction in at 1:50 PM, it counts for that race. However, if you miss that window and submit it at 1:51 PM or any time after, your entry won't apply to the current race—it will instead roll over to the next one.
Participants are free to tweak their predictions or submit entirely new ones as many times as they want right up until the deadline hits. Just keep in mind that we only care about the very last version you submit—that's the one that counts.

The points system works like this:
The points system remains strictly aligned with the current Formula 1 standard: 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1. These honors are awarded to the top ten finishers who manage to secure the highest number of secondary points during each race.
The points system used to award scoring at every single race follows this specific structure:
Groups 1 through 3 – 5 points plus an extra 1.
Group 4-10 – 3 points + 1 bonus
Group 11-16 – 2 points + 2
Group 17-24 – 1 point + 2
DNS Group – 3 points
DNS Group - 3 points
Fastest Lap – 5 points

Points are awarded based on the categories outlined in Section 3 of the Rulebook. Additional points for specific finishing positions are distributed across two separate groups:
Group 1: positions 1-3, 4-10 – 1 point per position.
Group 2: Positions 11-16 and 17-24 earn 2 points each.
Extra points aren't being awarded to the other groups.

The criteria used to determine the race order are as follows:
It’s pretty simple: the superior driver is the one who consistently racks up those extra points from secondary finishes. It's about that cumulative strength.
In the event that we end up with a tie after the first step, the tiebreaker should clearly favor the player who managed to hit more precise positions. It’s common sense—accuracy ought to be the deciding factor when the scores are level.
In the event of a tie following step B, the tiebreaker goes to the player who managed to secure more additional points.
d) In the event that we end up with a tie after step c), the tiebreaker should favor the player who holds the higher cumulative score from first-place finishes.
In the event of a tie following step d), the advantage goes to the player with the higher combined score from the 1st and 2nd place finishes—and the same logic applies when you factor in 3rd place, or any subsequent positions down the line.
In the event of a tie following step E, the advantage goes to the player who submitted their updated prediction first. If neither player has provided an updated forecast, the win defaults to whoever submitted their original prediction earliest. Furthermore, if one player fails to submit any updated prediction at all, the victory is automatically awarded to their opponent.

The criteria for determining the final individual standings are as follows:
It’s simple math: you go with the driver who racks up more primary points. That’s how you measure true dominance.
In the event that we end up with a tie following the criteria in section A, the deciding factor should clearly go to the driver with the higher number of wins.
In the event that we end up with a tie after step B, the tiebreaker should favor the driver who holds more countback points.
In the event that we end up with a tie after step C, the deciding factor should be whoever holds the upper hand in their head-to-head matchup. It’s common sense, really. If two drivers are deadlocked on points, you look at how they performed against one another; that's the only logical way to break the stalemate.
In the event that we end up with a tie following step D, the tiebreaker should favor the driver with more high-level finishes—meaning whoever boasts a higher number of podiums or top-three placements, and so on.

The criteria for determining the final standings in the Constructor Championship are as follows:
It’s a simple matter of logic: the superior team is the one that racks up more primary points. It isn't complicated.
In the event that we end up with a tie following scenario A, the tiebreaker should clearly favor the team with the higher number of wins.
In the event that we end up with a tie following step B, the deciding factor will be whichever team holds the higher number of tie-breaker points.
d) If there's a tie following step c), the advantage goes to the team with more higher-tier finishes—meaning more second-place spots, then third-place, and so on.

7. Should an additional team join the Formula 1 championship before or during the season, bringing the total driver count up to 26, the final two groups will be adjusted to 11-17 and 18-26. Conversely, if a team exits the sport, dropping the number of drivers to 22, those last two groups shift to 11-16 and 17-22. Any changes to these scoring tiers under this rule take effect immediately and automatically once the FIA or a team officially announces an entry or a withdrawal from one or all Formula 1 races. This also applies if such a decision is made before free practice and the team fails to show up for Friday's sessions. To be clear, this specific article won't be triggered by random absences due to other issues—like running out of spare parts or a driver getting injured—where a team or driver misses practice, qualifying, or the race itself.

If a competitor fails to submit a new prediction or misses the official deadline, the "Joker" rule kicks in automatically. Look, the rules are clear: players are required to submit a fresh prediction for every single race. However, to account for life getting in the way, everyone is allotted five "Jokers" per season. These act as an automatic safety net; if you miss a deadline, a Joker is triggered, and your last official prediction will be used for that race. Once you’ve burned through all five Jokers, you’re effectively out of the running. From that point on, you'll face disqualification for every subsequent race, meaning you won't earn any points. If you want to get back in the game after that happens, you'll have to submit a new prediction to reset your status. It's straightforward, but you really need to stay on top of it.
If a driver fails to submit a new forecast for three consecutive races, their teammate has the authority to kick them out of the team if they choose to do so. Unless that driver explicitly states otherwise, they'll be tossed straight into a newly formed squad called "The Outcasts."

Participants are strictly required to post their predictions using only the specific username they used when entering the competition. The only exception to this rule is if an administrator has stepped in to modify a handle for administrative reasons. Otherwise, any participant who has been banned will be treated as a passive observer—essentially being lumped in with those who simply haven't logged into the forum for a while.

Drivers are free to jump from one team to another whenever they please. However, let’s be clear about how the math works during a transfer: you don't get to take your former team's constructor points with you. Those stay behind. Your individual driver points? Those stay yours. It’s the same deal if a driver gets kicked to the curb. From a structural standpoint, a team's points tally only starts accumulating from the moment a new squad is officially formed. Now, don't confuse a rebranding with a new entity—changing a team's name doesn't reset the scoreboard. Under the current rules, a team is allowed two name changes during the season, though they can swap names as often as they want before the season actually kicks off.

If you pick a driver for your predictions who doesn't actually show up on the official FIA results, don't expect to see any points credited to your score. It’s that simple. Furthermore, if you fail to list certain drivers in your ranking, you won't receive points for them—I don't care how "logical" or "obvious" it seems that a specific driver was missing from your list. We calculate everything strictly based on the exact positions you assign to each driver. If you make a typo and write down the wrong number, your ranking will be processed exactly as you wrote it, errors and all. If you leave a position blank, you aren't getting points for it. Period.
If you decide to list the same position or driver more than once, don't expect any points for those entries—they simply won't count. Similarly, if you nominate more drivers than what would actually take the starting grid under normal racing conditions, you aren't going to see any points for those extra names. As for any drivers where you haven't specified a finishing position, we’re treating them as a DNF. And just to be clear: if you submit an entire ranking without including any position numbers at all, we will treat that as a standings list with zero DNFs.

Rule number 12: Any blatant and intentional copying of someone else's predictions—regardless of whether the "correct" forecast eventually comes out right or not—will be viewed as a direct attempt to incite chaos and widespread arguments within the competition. Such behavior will result in an automatic disqualification lasting two or more races. This rule specifically targets anyone caught blatantly copy-pasting another person's picks or submitting entries that are nearly identical, specifically those where at least 75% of the drivers are placed in the exact same positions.

Race results are tallied based strictly on what the FIA broadcasts immediately following the checkered flag—whether that’s the live TV feed or those first unofficial, uncorrected listings posted on the official website. Once those numbers are out there, any subsequent corrections made by the FIA are essentially irrelevant to our calculations. We don't play follow-the-leader with their late adjustments. When it comes to determining who actually dropped out, we look solely at those initial FIA standings. If a driver is explicitly flagged as a DNF, NC, or Ret on the official site, they count as having retired. Any other designation doesn't qualify as a DNF under this system. Furthermore, per the FIA Rulebook, a driver is officially considered to have retired if they complete less than 90% of the total race distance. And let's be clear: the total distance is dictated entirely by the number of laps the FIA decides to run, whether they stick to the standard plan or make an extraordinary call mid-race.
Drivers who fail to make the grid during qualifying won't be treated as a DNS unless they actually miss the race start. If they miss qualifying but the FIA grants them a special dispensation to compete, they aren't categorized as a DNS in the predictions. Instead, they’re treated just like any other driver who qualified normally—meaning they have the full opportunity to either finish in scoring positions or end up as a DNF.

14. In the event that a controversial situation arises during the competition that isn't explicitly covered by this Rulebook, or if the language here proves to be ambiguous or incomplete, the Race Director holds the final authority to settle the matter. This Rulebook goes into effect upon its posting in the Championship rules and results section. It can only be amended through specific updates if it becomes absolutely necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the competition moving forward.

15.
