Look, there's no need to overcomplicate this.

1. Trying to manipulate things just to chase double points is a massive gamble—you risk walking away with a big fat zero instead. That’s enough of a deterrent right there.

2. If someone really wants to play dirty while technically staying within the rules, here’s how: A prediction consists of 22 exact positions plus FL and PP—that’s 24 picks total. This means you could have 17 or 18 picks be identical to someone else's, and then just swap a couple of positions for the rest. Legally, it counts as a valid entry that either nets a mountain of points or nothing at all, yet it remains about 74% identical to the target.

3. A teammate of mine sent me some thoughts via DM before the race. He wanted me to bump up Lotus and drop Ferrari. I sent him my take, we played what we thought was best, and that was that.

4. If we actually want to nip this in the bud, the penalty needs to be draconian. Issue a ban for the next race and see if they still find it "exciting" to play when they're being forced to bend the rules.😁

Anyway, take care.

redheron12 said:I’ve said it a hundred times already—I have absolutely no intention of following the rules regarding this championship. The forum, the parent company, Monitor Doo, and the owner aren't involved in organizing or managing any of this, so frankly, I couldn't care less about their regulations.

Regarding the whole debate about copying—personally, I’m all for it. I think it's perfectly fine if teammates decide to put out identical predictions.

Look, Gleč, I don't care. Whatever the moderator or the majority of players decide, that's what happens.
But if that's the case, the rules need to actually match up... both for the competition and the subforum.
It's honestly ridiculous when one set of rules says one thing and another set says the exact opposite.😉

Regarding the actual copying—honestly, I don't see any difference whether someone is on the same team or not.🙄
Someone please explain to me why there's even a distinction here.🤣
If copying is allowed, then it should be allowed for everyone, regardless of whose prediction they grabbed. The only real question is whether we decide to penalize that kind of thing with points or not.☕

Because at the end of the day, there's no real difference between you copying Patina's prediction, me copying Patina's, or you copying mine.☕
You can't predict ahead of time whose guess will be better or worse anyway.
And copying is literally just guessing, no different than pulling a result out of thin air.😉

The only thing that truly matters is that the rules stay the same for every player, no matter their team. No playing favorites:
"Oh, I copied my teammate and it's fine because we agreed..." vs "TBFov copied my teammate so he needs to be punished, haha."🙂
That's just a recipe for endless arguments and total nonsense.

That’s like me saying it’s perfectly fine to sleep with TBFov’s wife—simply because TBF does it too. 🤷

Since when did playing on a team become a marriage?🤣
So what, am I supposed to turn bigamist now and marry my teammate or something? What kind of logic is this?😬

I don't really feel like breaking everything down right now—the bottom line is that a teammate isn't just another player; they're someone you share specific goals with, though unfortunately, we lack the tools to actually achieve them. So, I'll suggest "copying" as a potential tool—keeping in mind that a teammate could report you for copying, which adds an interesting psychological and tactical layer to the game. 🙂
In addition, I propose we establish a Drivers and Teams Association. Representatives from this association would have veto power over the rules—just so everything isn't left entirely up to Terry Carter2.
Plus, we could sign a concordat with the site administrators regarding the forum rules that apply to competitors. Membership in the association could be paid—symbolically, maybe ten bucks—and those funds could cover cheap hosting for next season. We could store all the offers in a database, making it easy to calculate points, rankings, and standings—and if there's any money left over, the winner gets a round of BBQ on us. 😛

Man, you can really overcomplicate things, can't you?🤣

Look, I don't really care... neither am I going to be copying SuKki, nor is she going to be copying me.🤣
So, it literally makes zero difference to me. But like I said, I still don't see any logic in allowing teammates to share info while banning everyone else from doing the same.

If copying is allowed—then let everyone copy from everyone.
If copying is allowed only with public permission from the source—then fine, let that rule apply to anyone as long as they have permission.
If copying is only punished if the source files a complaint—then again, let everyone copy from everyone (as long as nobody complains).
And if copying isn't allowed—then nobody copies from anybody.☕

Ultimately, if you allow teammates to share picks, it’s just as stupid as allowing people to clone accounts and play with two profiles at once. It’s pure idiocy.
It would be much more logical to just give every "solo player" team points by counting their score twice every round, effectively making teams non-existent.

In my opinion, if people are so desperate for "team play" that they need to share info, it's better to just split the competition up entirely...
For example, each team could submit just one single team prediction like this:
Player No. 1 picks the top 10 on the grid + PP and FL
Player No. 2 picks the remaining 12 drivers.
Or they could just agree that every player provides the top 10 + FL/PP every other race...

Meanwhile, the driver championship can continue as usual, with everyone making their own individual picks.

That way, you'd end up with an individual champion AND a legitimate "constructors'" champion.

Terry Carter2 said:As I mentioned earlier, we managed to resolve the issue for now through some emergency measures.

By the way, I have no intention of participating in any copying unless there are actual penalties involved.
Something along the lines of what Dorian is suggesting seems reasonable to me, though I honestly think five minor points is far too low. Therefore, I propose we try to reach an agreement based on a solution similar to that to clear up this uncertainty once and for all!
😁

Just slash half the prediction points.

If a prediction is worth 50 points, anyone caught ripping it off gets 25; if it's worth 51, they still get 25.

Hey, if anyone wants in, be my guest. Let's just legalize cheating. ☕

Let's not jump the gun 🙂

There’s an internal struggle happening behind the scenes—and there's absolutely no guarantee the team won't start complaining once they see where they land in the standings 🙂

Go ahead and throw out some more concrete, sensible suggestions. Once we have enough substance, I’ll put together a poll so we can vote and actually settle on a system that works for the majority!

I already said what I had to say. Just give points like they do in Formula One for the top spots—25, 18, 15, 12, etc.—for both the PP and GL, and call it a day. Everything else is just noise.

Look, I’ve gotta get this off my chest even if everyone hates me for it

Seriously, what kind of absolute genius came up with this points system??? I swear, I’ve never seen anything this brainless in my entire life

I’m dying to know—who was the bright spark behind this mess?

I can't say for certain, so I'll just say I don't know; you're more than welcome to go digging for answers yourself if you're so interested.
Whether it's stupid or not, it works fine for me, and you shouldn't think I'm an idiot just because we disagree. In fact, if you do think that, it says much more about your character than mine!

And frankly, your own suggestion isn't any better—try coming up with something actually substantial next time!

Of course you have to follow the site rules.
It doesn't matter if the owner isn't personally jumping in; they still have their staff (mods and admins) who handle everything...
Our forum competitions are hosted right here on the site, so they fall under the community guidelines and all the standard regulations that come with that...

But seriously, I'm asking the mods directly: where can I find the official registration and the permit number from the state authorities authorizing the Presvetli Cup prize giveaway?

1. The race itself follows a points system that, as far as I know, still doesn't make total sense to anyone...😁
Before the second race, people started arguing about the scoring system. Max suggested one way, the banned manager then added a point via his teammate for hitting a specific position...

Some minor tweaks happened later... but basically, the scoring system hasn't changed since the very beginning, specifically since the second race.

When I buy my buddies a round of beers, it's just being a good friend—it's not some illegal sweepstakes.

Personally, I'd leave everything exactly as it is, maybe just add a 10-point bonus for correctly guessing the top three finishers.

First off, we’d actually need to reach a consensus on whether we should even be messing with the scoring system in the middle of the season!
Like I said before, we already held a vote on this matter, and the rules are staying exactly how they are right now.

Not a bad call, but I’d tweak it a little....😁
If you nail an entire group, you get an extra 10 or 5 bonus points.😁

So, say you sweep a group:
Group 1-3 = 5+1 x 3 = 18 + 10 = 28
Group 4-10 = 3+1 x 7 = 28 + 10 = 38
Group 11-16 = 2+2 x 6 = 24 + 5 = 29
Group 17-22 = 1+2 x 6 = 18 + 5 = 23
DNF Group = 3+1 x however many there are, plus 5 bonus points if you hit them all.
Actually, maybe just a +5 bonus if you don't predict any DNFs and nobody actually drops out during the race...

PP and FL are already linked anyway, so adding extra group points there makes zero sense...
And DNQ doesn't even have exact positions or hits to work with...
