Voting for the next Host and their rulebook

Here’s the deal: this is the new thread for discussing the Host and the rules for the 2013 season.

I’m moving all the posts regarding the 2013 season and general rules over to this thread.
The server is acting up a bit, so I'll get that finished either early tomorrow morning or late tonight,
but feel free to keep the discussion going right here in the meantime.

If you want to run for the 2013 season Host or suggest your own rules, please do it in this thread.🙂

The deadline to apply for the 2013 championship host is July 1, 2012.
It’s highly recommended that everyone applying includes their own proposed rulebook along with their application.
Those rules need to be submitted by that July 1, 2012 deadline so players can vote for both you as host and your specific rules at the same time.
Once that date passes, I’ll open a poll in this thread to vote for the Host and their rulebook.
The poll will stay open for 30 days.

If nobody applies to be the host by August 1, 2012—when the poll closes—and no rules for the upcoming season show up, the 2013 championship probably won't happen.
Let's face it: running the championship without a chosen host and a set of rules makes zero sense.

If you think about it, a 45-day window is too short to apply and draft rules, just say the word and we might extend it.
Personally, though, I think it's plenty of time for candidates to step up and get their rules ready.

bump 😳

Just a quick heads-up that nobody has stepped up to lead yet...
And fair warning: if we don't get a leader, there won't be a 2013 championship at all...

Don't say I didn't warn you later.

Hmm, I wonder if Paska and Terry Carter2 aren't planning on keeping this successful partnership going?
🤷

If the championship actually ends up without a leader and just fizzles out, then we really have to ask ourselves whether there's any point in playing the Super League, which would basically just be filled by tournament players anyway... Well, at least not for next year.

To be perfectly honest, I have zero interest in taking over the leadership role, but I am definitely putting my hand up for the assistant position—specifically, the one responsible for tallying the points. I would hate to see this championship fall through just because we can't settle on a leader, even if I were forced to step up myself. That said, I strongly suggest we stick with Paska for the lead, provided he’s still willing to do it. If you look past a few controversial moments here and there, our cooperation has actually been quite solid.

So someone seriously needs to speak up, because there isn't anyone else. We need this championship to happen.

The only thing you really have to do is die, dear darkmarlin16.

Given that this year's championship is about as exciting as the Spaniard's performance in the UEFA tournament, I'm wondering if there's even any point
in launching the "winning the Formula 1 championship 2013" project.
The championship—despite showing some real promise during those first few races—has become dull, uninteresting, and completely devoid of any actual excitement.

Either give darkmarlin16 a ban, or let stormybadger8 mess things up again regarding the enforcement of the Rules. 🤷

Bread and circuses. And trolling. 😁

That's what people crave. 👋

If you really don't want to be part of something, why on earth do you have to tear it down to the very roots?

I’m thinking we should push the deadline back to August 30th, 2012.
It would be awesome to give any potential leaders enough breathing room during that gap between the Canadian and Belgian races to really nail their applications. That way, they can actually show us what they're about and pitch any cool new ideas or changes they want to bring to the table 😁
If more than two people end up running, I say we just do it in two rounds

Proposal accepted.
Registration deadline extended to August 30, 2012.

Terry Carter2 - please coordinate with Paska and draft the rulebook you guys plan on using to run the championship.
darkmarlin16 - please send over your proposed rules for running the championship.

Edward Howard2 could probably sign up himself—why don't you show us how good you actually are at managing things?😉

Paska (very) likely isn't planning on stepping into any competitions next year, let alone taking the lead on them 🙂

Leading the Championship?

I'm definitely the right man for the job. ☕

A championship leader ought to be as sharp and uncompromising as a federal prosecutor, yet maintain the tolerance of Gandhi and the broad-mindedness of Hawking. It is quite evident, however, that such an individual simply does not exist on this forum. That being said, looking at those currently stepping up, you fall among the better candidates—provided we assume Terry Carter2 applied to be a moderator rather than just a data entry clerk. 🙏 👍 😁

Not sure who to ask, so I figured I'd just drop it here 😬

So, how are you guys feeling about the way Terry Carter2 and I have been running the championship so far? Keep in mind, we're only three rounds in... 😬

Any complaints? Anything we should fix if it's actually within our control...?

I might consider putting my name in the hat, but my rules would look drastically different from the current ones. Honestly, I’m 96.46% certain I wouldn't even make the cut. There’s no point in me applying just to pad out the numbers and ensure a quorum, is there?

I'm assuming the whole proposal is being accepted, which means we'll probably have two rounds of voting since it looks like there will be 3 or 4 candidates, right?

Quote : Maxyć could throw his hat in the ring, so show us what you've got when it comes to running things.😉

Well, I’ve already shown you how good I am at managing things by running all the competitions for two years straight, but apparently that wasn't quite enough for a few of you... 😁

So, one of the biggest gripes is definitely that mess you guys made with PP 😁
Another big issue is that you aren't double-checking the results... I mean, since there are two of you, it would be great if you could verify the results (doesn't have to be instant, just whenever you get a chance) that Terry Carter2 tallies up... because honestly, props to him, but nobody's perfect... 😁
Besides, that's exactly what you promised when you started running this...

I said I'd check them "if I feel like it or if I find the time" 😉

..and who's saying I don't? I'm not crazy enough to clutter the thread with endless copies of predictions.. especially if it isn't even necessary since Terry Carter2 is basically spot-on so far... usually I just check the top ten for both myself and the crew. If we aren't in the top 10, I check the results too... honestly, I haven't caught an error from him yet, so I'm checking him less and less because there's just no point...

as for those other complaints, they were out of my hands anyway... 😬

that whole chaos happened because the rules weren't clear enough, so everyone was just doing their own thing...

I don't get it... what's the issue here? Is it that you're not feeling it or you're just too busy?
Nobody's telling you that you have to flood the thread with duplicate predictions... all you need to do is point out where the mistakes were, and that's it... or if everything went perfectly, just say you checked and it's all good...
You say you've been checking the top ten, but what about 11th, 12th, 13th... and so on? There were plenty of times where they were only 2 or 3 points away from the top ten, and maybe they missed out entirely just because of some error..?
Honestly... I think you've actually barely checked anything, if you've checked anything at all... but hey... that's just my two cents... 😁

Honestly, I’m genuinely relieved to see Edward Howard2 back in top form.
If my memory serves me right, there was a period where he could barely hold things together.

Funny how everything was perfectly peaceful while he was MIA... but now that he took an unexpected hit in the tournament, suddenly he's gone quiet. He's probably waiting for things to settle before posting his take on the league's mess and the Super League drama, even though according to him, the whole tournament has already hit rock bottom.🤣 🤣 🤣

We seriously need to get him registered and protected...😁
