It is time to invest in a new PC. Its primary purpose will be gaming. I do not require a monitor or peripherals. After browsing through various threads, I am stuck between these two options. Which one is superior? Any additional suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

From what I’ve gathered, Microsoft Flight Simulator relies way more on your CPU than your GPU. You really need a beefier processor, especially if you're planning on running mods.

In that case, I’d just go with the Intel Core i5-4460 and an R9 280X... honestly, the 4690K feels like overkill. You probably won't see much of a difference from a moderate overclock in 99% of games since the GPU is going to be the bottleneck anyway.

But honestly, I only need the rig for Microsoft Flight Simulator. I don't care about any other games.

Then just go ahead and grab the Intel Core i5-4690K if that’s really what you want. I honestly don't get why people show up, ask for advice, listen to a full explanation, and then just shut it down with an "But I STILL need..." followed by opening three different threads and spamming half the forum. ☕

And what's the point of that CPU?
Stick it on a board where you can't even overclock it. It's useless.

Just take the 4460 like they told you. You're only looking at a 300MHz difference, $200 and it'll save you some cash.

Anything you say about the CPU kind of falls flat when you're running a GPU here that's twice as powerful as a gtx 750.
