Proposal for a new (potentially most engaging) PDF layout

There was an attempt at a thread like this before, and honestly, everyone saw exactly how that went south. The real issue is that people don't seem to know where to draw the line. It’s one thing to argue online, but it becomes a massive problem when things spill off the forum and turn into personal vendettas, looking for fights in real life, or straight-up threats. We really don't need that kind of 🤷

Why doesn't this escalate into real-life confrontations on 4chan or Reddit? 🤷 You can write pretty much anything here. Most people—I’d venture to say 99% of this forum—are sane. Can you actually imagine some thug from IBM coming home, turning on his computer, and typing away on a forum...

In my view, all the insults and threats made here are harmless and won't escalate into anything significant.
Of course, I'm not suggesting death threats or violence should be permitted. Boundaries are necessary.
But getting banned just because I call someone an idiot in a chat, they call me the same thing back, and then we move on... to me, that’s just unnecessary sterilization of normal human interaction.

I think you missed my point. I get that there are people who can brush off that kind of talk and won't lose their minds if someone calls them stupid. The issue lies with the people who can't handle it; once you push their buttons, they don't care about whether they get sanctioned or not, they just want to find out where you live and settle the score personally.

And yeah, those kinds of people definitely exist on this forum.

Furthermore, I should point out something you conveniently neglected to mention: whenever a chat gets shut down, these individuals simply clone themselves and march right back in to claim more victories, which seems to be your standard operating procedure. If you want empirical evidence, just look at the thread author himself; God knows which clone he actually is. Is that how it works, Adam Richardson3, Asparagus, and all your other little duplicates?

It is quite fascinating, really, to watch you demand justice and rights on a forum where you refuse to follow the basic rules, especially when you are being bolstered by those who behave exactly like you. I am specifically referring to Praying Mantis, who is clearly just a duplicate of Tempest Storm, or hiddenseal3, who is an extension of Lovecat—who, if memory serves, had her own thread here complaining about chats being closed, though she used a different clone at the time so you wouldn't recognize her.

Regrettably, I find myself unable to start a formal complaint thread on the grievance board because last night’s constructive debate—during which I was labeled a pathetic, backward, useless bird, and where Richard Cook9, acting as a proxy for Jackal, suggested I ought to be slapped for three days straight—was promptly deleted. I wish to distance myself from one of last night's posts that managed to stay up, as I, L3gu, have done nothing to any moderator or staff member.

All of this tension was sparked simply because I sent a message to Dim to let him know they had reopened the chat, despite the fact that after the last incident in the Off topic section, they were explicitly forbidden from doing so, particularly since they already have their own chat over in the Miscellaneous subforum.

Once Dim finally shut the chat down, they immediately opened a new one. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how "respect" for staff decisions is handled around here. ☕

They already have a dedicated chat where they can talk, and honestly, there are plenty of chat rooms on this forum, but apparently, they don't care for the existing company; they just want a private space all to themselves. ☕

I fail to see anything wrong with exercising my right to report posts or contacting a moderator when I feel it is necessary. Or perhaps I am mistaken—is it better to remain silent because the clones and the trolls are somehow more protected than the regular users who actually bother to follow the rules?

If you choose to let them continue venting their frustrations here instead of at some local dive bar, then so be it; I will step aside so as not to obstruct their path.

Kate Walker54 is struggling to grasp how our nicknames work. She assumes we’re hiding behind new identities, when in reality, all changes are handled by L3ga with full approval.

It’s a shame all those posts and chats were deleted—along with her endless insults and harassment. She rarely participates in the chat unless she’s looking to insult someone or report us for "fighting."

If L3go hadn't graciously provided us with the chat, we wouldn't have anything at all. And now, apparently, that's still not sufficient—now there needs to be yet another chat just for the "chosen few."🕺

P.S. As far as I'm concerned, I'd actually prefer if they kept it to themselves. I personally find things much better when the "traffic" is lighter; it always feels higher quality to me.🙂
